SPL In Crisis: R*ngers Can’t Be Punished No More.

As the crane hired to lift me from my holiday sun lounger creaked to a halt ensuring that I was steady enough to stand before proceeding for another 3 course lunch (that I didn’t need or even want) I noticed that Jane Lewis was outside ‘The Big Hoose’ on the plasma hanging behind the bar.

As this was national news I knew something big had happened. My phone was securely tucked away in the hotel safe (I decided that I didn’t want to be disturbed apart from the usual family needs – 3 year olds constantly want ice creams in hot countries it seems) I had already spent my 2 Euro daily internet allowance, which was only allowed for betting on Euro 2012 purposes and not checking SPL nonsense so I decided to forgo lunch, get my phone and spend a further 2 Euro.

It was worth missing a 3 course gluttony on the scale of ego’s in the Edministon Drive padded seats for. Ding dong. The witch was dead.

The pantomine was over. The reaper was no longer behind them. All the lies, mistruths that lead to false hopes and some astonishing over-flinching by some obsessed Celtic fans was over. The internet bampots had been correct all along.

Charles Green from that point has been like a door step salesman trying to get you to switch energy supplier. It’s a painless switch to Newco FC he claims, just sign here, we will do the rest and remember nothing CHANGES just days after stating that a failed CVA meant the end of Rangers history.

Green doesn’t have his problems to seek and his task to convince former fans of Rangers to transfer over to Newco FC wasn’t helped by his hamfisted attempt to win favour by asking for suggestions for the renaming of Murray Park and then Walter Smith stating that Green should sell him to him and his consortium while knowingly letting out the attack dogs. With the timely leaked story that McCoist was thinking about walking away the dogs had been poked with a big stick.

Add to that the fact that Newco FC doesn’t have a license to play football, doesn’t have a league to play football in, could face crippling sanctions before Newco FC even kick a ball, doesn’t have any players, doesn’t have a sponsor, doesn’t have a kit deal and basically all it has is a stadium and a training centre then you have more problems your average Greek bank.

This is all done to the constant drone of the media and Rangers fans stating that the club has been punished enough and some clemency should be shown. For once they have a point. The point is completely misguided by misinformation they are being fed. It’s like feeding a kid Brussel sprouts. They know they don’t like them, they know that they don’t want them but they are eating it anyway knowing that all it’s good for is hot air.

Newco FC can’t and shouldn’t face punishment for the club formally known as Rangers crimes. They have nothing to do with Rangers FC and any decent lawyer or even a quite crap one could shot holes in any punishment should they choose to contest what the SPL/SFA dream up for them. Any real time punishment isn’t now possible so today’s announcement that the SPL investigation into dual contracts has been delayed is no surprise. It’s not a big conspiracy it’s just delaying the grave robbing.

So, Monday will see the SPL chairmen meet to discuss Newco FC. If the SPL chairmen want to punish Newco FC then the only option open to them is not to vote them into the SPL. If the SFA want to punish Newco FC then the only punishment open to them is to refuse a license.

The misinformation comes from that we are being told we need to give Rangers FC a break and not punish them further. Aye, well they are dead anyway so it’s all Brussel sprout induced hot air. A waste of time.

The newly found fans of Newco FC seem to want goodwill shown on their new club. Problem is that Newco FC have no reason to get any goodwill. They have no history or record to confirm what they will bring to the table.

They want to ride roughshod over Dundee, Partick Thistle, Falkirk, Raith Rovers or Morton who all could lay justifiable claims, backed by hard evidence, of what they bring to the game and show the scars of years of hard work to get that evidence. The SPL are going to be asked to vote on plans that are based on mibbees and what if’s.

As one murky chapter closes another opens that brings all 38 Scottish league clubs into the equation. It could also see us showing our hand in things don’t settle the way our CEO wants. England again has been mentioned but that is another bucket of sick that I don’t want to drink at this time.

This isn’t the end it’s just the beginning.

Every new club has the God given right to apply for membership to the SFA also the SPL, what they dont have is a God given right to is membership, now without going into the rights and wrongs of all that has trenspired regarding the now defunk rangers fc, it would be a travesty of justice if a newco was allowed straight into the SPL over the heads of all others clubs who have been fair and honest members of the SFA and some at other times the SPL.
Sport all sport has to be run fair and equal to all this does not mean all are equal, but all have to be treated equal.
This is now the time for those in power in Scottish football to lead by showing neither fear nor favour.
    Surely not a big ask?.

    • It is not a big ask. For them it is a massive ask for they have always had to show both fear and favour to the ‘second biggest institution’ and it is more than feasible that in their blue tinted eyes they still see “The” newco club as not having changed from the liquidated one. Sadly, very sadly, I am convinced that equality, integrity or any other ‘ity’ comes into it for them.

      H H

      • Should have been “NOT CONVINCED”. That is what anger does to a man’s literacy! Might I just add that Ogilvie is still there. Where is the decency never mind the equality?

    • Al Mair says:

A newco SHOULD start at the bottom and work up…….. What about the clubs in the 3rd division….. Maybe they too should all apply to join the spl it’s all frickin shit!!!! Newco Huns should start over if they want to be a “NEWCO”

  • Wildrover says:

What I don’t understand, is adding “The” to the name enough to distance it from the previous club ? What are the requirements that say “this is a new club” ? Do they just have to avoid linking themselves with previous trophies/achievements and change the name, however so slightly ?

    • lordofthewing says:

Yes, Green’s language has been quite clear with this. He is claiming it’s a new club no link with the previous club.

The Scots Law blog had a cracking article on this today. He could quite easily be claiming that Rangers FC still exist but he isn’t.

  • paranoidandroid says:

To be honest, the most important thing to me is that the old, defunct, kaput Rangers is investigated properly. I want to see HMRC investigating Ogilvie and Sir Minty. I want their years of cheating exposed to the world. And I want every title they won illegally expunged from the records.
We might not be able to ‘punish’ no more fc, but how great would it be to have it officially recognised that they cheated to win nine-in-a-row.
I’d like to see their cheating exposed for all the victims of their cheating: Tommy Burns, all the Celtic fans, and the fans of every other club in Scotland.

  • ewanbhoy says:

trouble is the huns r so stupid. they think that newco is still oldco and that everything oldco won moves onto newco. even if u try and explain to them that a new club that was only formed in 2012 is impossible to have won anything as they didnt exsist b4 then they still woukdnt get it. Stupid huns.

Only my opinion for what its worth.

Any official from the board down to management team are tainted by the EBT scam..

Watty and and swally are they reputable persons?

It could be said without debate the SFA are part of the hierachy who had knowledge of what was happening with Rankers and their cheating.
Therefore it is pretty obvious that as paranoid said the HRMC and the future inquiry will have an effect on persons involved throughout football. The SFA, SPL Rankers ex employees .

EUFA, FIFA will also have their eyes on them all as they sit back and watch the crimes being exposed.
The SPL meeting shortly will unless they are thick realise that any decisions they take will most probably be scuppered as evidence day by day continues for quite some time. Not months but possibly years.. Strathclydes finest are awaiting in the wings. HMP is awaiting hopefully and justice served by them in the pokey.

    Hail Hail

you are, with the greatest respect david, deluding yourself, if you really think this mob, any of them connected to the evil empire will go to jail. they have cheated us for over a hundred years and done so with the support of the sfa in all that time. they will continue to do so, and even if ogilvie steps down he won’t do so until he is of no further use to the orcs and with as much backing as is needed from that wee english clown.

    First up…your Brussel Sprouts/Hot Air analogy…
    Excellent..I appreciate “clever writing”.
    Seriously now…
There are really no more words to be written on this…it’s been discussed from a thousand angles..
    All I will say is…
In ANY OTHER country in the world..this farce would have been exposed by a inquisitive press long long ago..the relevant Football Authorities would have moved quickly to administer justice…but we’re not in any other country….
We’re in Scotland…and that has proved to be one of the biggest problems of all.
Division 3 is too good for these peepul…

  • justshatered says:

You’ve hit the nail on the head.
New Club has a ground, training facility, car park , and an unknownn number of players but no licence to play football.
Old Club has no ground, no training facilities, players who they can’t pay and because they have none of the above will shortly have no licence to play football.
Oh dear “What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve.”
The SFA/SPL, even by their corrupt standards, are going to have to work really hard to square this circle.

  • Mike Bhoyle says:

    justshatered:

Is “squaring the circle” no a Masonic thing?….
    Widnae be surprised..wid you?

  • lordofthewing says:

I’ll answer in more detail later on. At the moment I have some beer to drink.

But the SFA pulling rank is an interesting move. Like the rest of us I think they now know that the SPL is not fit for purpose.

  • Bhoywondet says:

The overly compromised Campbell Ogilvie needs to be ousted from the SFA. Until this happens, the SFA will remain as tainted as the Dark Side. Restructuring the leagues does not cure the epidemic which has been installed in the ruling bodies, in the MSM and in the Scottish broadcasting media……or am I still just a paranoid tim?

  • john miller says:

David Murray should be in prison, as for Craig Whyte well I don’t think he truly realised just how big the mess was at ibrox, and the not paying of tax was prob due to him keeping players in wages and paying other debts, he wasnt there long enough to have that much of an impact, it was all down to mintymoonbeam,as for Newco I agree they cannot be held accountable for crimes they didnt commit, the only connection between the two is that they bought assets from the defunct club nothing more.

  • Hosssie says:

Its a pointles league enyway and it will b boring now aswell

  • bobocop says:

What crimes exactly are being talked about in relation to Murray,Smith and McCoist?
EBTs are completely legal and therefore not even morally wrong as some have been trumpeting lately. Which of you fine upstanding citizens out there pay all your dues? How many mechanics, brickies, joiners, teachers and the like, who do homers week in week out declare their additional income to the tax man. What about all those workers who deal in cash, i.e. taxi drivers, van salesmen, publicans,
resteraunteurs, driving instructors and so on submit true figures re turnover and profit? Not many, if any. Are they all criminals?
Then there’s all the benefits cheats with every kind of scam imaginable being played out.
Of course none of the above will be Celtic fans or football fans at all for that matter.
The Rangers tax case has been heard twice already with the courts finding in favour of Rangers. The tax man however is desperate to win this one as there are thousands of EBTs being operated round the country. There are thousands of the wealthy looking on nervously. You might even find a few at Parkhead.
Where it all went pear shaped was in Murray selling to Craig Whyte, albeit he was heavily pressured into the sale by the bank. Whyte may well have broken the law by refusing to pay tax, V.A.T. and N.I. contributions apparently collected from staff. I have heard from guys inside Ibrox that Whyte made it clear to other directors as soon as he secured ownership that no bills were to be paid. If that is the case then he should be prosecuted and jailed along with those party to it.
