What To Look For At The Euros (Part 2)

With the Euros starting tonight, I thought I’d complete my preview and give you the final 5 things to look out for at the Euros! Blink and you’ll probably miss them!

Tactical Trap? – For the first time since 2002, the Irish they have qualified. This time however, I don’t hear many ‘Give it a lash Trap’ songs being sung. Are the Irish now an established footballing nation? Is it ignorance to suggest that a team who are only making their second appearence in a European Championship have nothing to fear? One thing the Irish do have, is an excellent experienced Manager in Trap. Could the Italians be heading for a ‘Trap of their own making?’ I think the Irish can qualify from their group. It might not be pretty watching it, but if they can sneak past Croatia and possibly beat Italy or draw. Ireland will want Spain to walk away with the group. Stranger things have happened.

Danish Danger? – There is absolutely no doubt the Danes are the unluckiest team in the competition already. Group with Germany Holland and Portugal, Denmark must feel like they’re about to wake up from a nightmare and everything is calm again. Sorry lads, its not. But you can fight it, and in my opinion they might just surprise people. Now I’m not saying they’ll win it, or win a game, or score a goal, but they do  have an exciting young team, fronted by Eriksen from Ajax, who will no doubt be plying his trade somewhere better in the next few years. Don’t be overly shocked if the Danes get through. With Rasmussen up front, why wouldn’t they?

Goalkeepers – This year sees a lot of very good goal keepers act as the last line of defence for their country in battle. Holland, Germany, England, Italy, Spain and Ireland all boast terrific goalkeepers. But the Russians have a pearler. Akinfeev. He’s the man. He’s up there contending for the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment. Could he be the difference between 1-0 Russia wins and 0-0 draws?

English Disgrace? – Who knows? England look a very poor team this time round, and with their key players all getting injured, or being banned for the first two games, it would seem they’ll be lucky to even be in the competition for longer than 2 games. Roy will be lucky if hes there come September after this embarrassment. Who knows? they might even go on and win it…

Finally, The French – France look some outfit this team, even if their outfit is stinking! A defensive legend in Laurent Blanc to guide them, the French look like a marriage made in heaven, Solid foundations, but they’re still young enough to go out and have some fun. Honeymoon to the Euros? Who knows, but they may just be spending their anniversary in Rio come 2014. Watch out for Benzema and Ribery, but what you might not expect to see, is an Oliver rising. Giroud may just fire the frogs into the swamp.

Its sure to be a cracker folks, My tips are Germany to win the tournament. Lewandowski e/w top scorer and Gomez top scorer.

EVERYONE HAVE A GOOD ONE!
