Coffee & Tv: Our Silence Gave You A Voice Edition. Post Match Session Celtic V Aberdeen (Comment & Goal)

Managers Thoughts:

We looked leggy, obviously the effects of Wednesday night took its toll, We defended well and took control of the game, but going forward we were a bit flat. That’ll improve as we go along. The players put a lot into Wednesday night, and it took its toll as the game went on.”

“We worked the goalkeeper, but I never thought we created enough clear-cut chances for the amount of possession we had. The players were coming in at half-time saying they were stiff, but it was about getting through the game, getting the win and keeping a clean sheet.”

Other Managers Thoughts:

“Everyone in the dressing room was very disappointed after the game. There was a lot of effort put in particularly from the players in midfield. I think the effort the players put in merited a point at least. There is much despondency but the players have to react positively next week. We cannot feel sorry for ourselves. We have to get our heads up for next week.”

Were We Any Good?

From looking vibrant and frisky – in certain areas of the field – on Wednesday night we looked leggy, rusty and generally were awful for the majority of the game. We were looking for Para Handy to give us that Vital Spark. It came from a Clanger.

Were They Any Good?

No. They seemed to be joined together by super glue and if any individual had a thought that wasn’t brainwashed into them before hand then I’m sure they would have been subbed and then shot. Even when they were one down the half way line was viewed as a cliff edge for them.

On paper a decent outfit. In practice an eyesore. Must improve to reach the top 6. I’m sure they will.

Ref Watch

Calum Murray seemed to have his mind on Jessica Ennis like the majority of the male population yesterday judging by the amount of things he missed and let go. Maybe he was just in a good mood or was implementing a new SFA directive where late high challenges are no longer a threat to our society.

The Positive Of Paradise

In a nutshell we won and will improve. In fact we have 72 hours to improve.

The Negative Of Negativity

The Arab Spring of supporter solidarity ended when the Aberdeen support held up a banner that read: “Your silence was deafening”. I never knew standing up against corruption in the name of sporting integrity was a point scoring and ego massaging exercise?

Off course Celtic maybe didn’t make as much comment as some. They did make two statements and were always going to be a no vote. Like all other SPL clubs there is still some doubt about how much blood we have on our hands in the way Neil Doncaster acted

Celtic’s silence stopped the issue becoming an Old Firm thing. Our silence gave others a voice.
