Well here I go, a dramatic attempt to rate each Celtic player out of ten last night. Wish me luck folks, this could get messy.
Forster – 6 – Not saying he was dramatically at fault for either goal, sometimes I feel his positioning isn’t the best and his communication with Izaguirre for both goals wasn’t great ether.
Matthews – 5 – Didn’t overly struggle like some thought he did but it must be hard knowing you’re one of the most consistent players in the team and you keep getting dropped. Did at times struggle to kick McFadden who took the ball off him a few times.
Rogne – 3 – He only gets a 3 because he’s bigger than me. Soft as a crate of toilet rolls. Doesn’t want to sign a new contract in case he breaks a nail. Good riddance
Wanyama – 6 – Not his usual dominant self but playing at centre half he tried to get the play going from defence, never worked out and couldn’t decide between him or rogne who would mark Higdon. Did make for good ‘wan yama oh yama’ jokes all night though
Izaguirre – 1 – Only gets a 1 because I’d never give a Celtic player 0. Never put a good cross in all night, never got close to Humphries, let his awareness skills go to pot when twice allowing Motherwell to score at the back post. Poor night from someone who has been brilliant for months.
Commons – 4 – over rated and a total idiot. All good at coming out blaming Ambrose but hasn’t kicked his massive ghetto booty since.
Kayal – 5 – at least tried to get in amongst the game and took some heavy knocks and played a lovely ball to Samaras who just watched it go by him. Not his brilliant 2011 best which I think is gone and won’t come back.
Rogic – 5 – Never really got into the game, probably a reality check for the youngster with Motherwell’s lasley determined to break his legs any time he picked the ball up. Still learning though. Watch out.
Forrest – 7 – Probably our best player on the night, didn’t think he was anything special but at least took a full back on for a change and set up the goal
Stokes – 5 – Never has and never will be able to play up front with Samaras, 3 years later we all know it except Neil Lennon. Tried his best to maintain that great form he’s shown but doesn’t link well with the Greek and it showed.
Samaras – 6 – See Stokes. Except Samaras Scored.
Just move on to Saturday and keep our season alive.
