Whats The Odds?

Howdy Sports Fans and welcome to the first everĀ TheCelticBlogĀ ‘Whats The Odds?’ An exciting new Friday night feature designated at the betting weekend!

No, the blog hasn’t gone all metrosexual, there’ll still be plenty of Celtic first Celtic last and Celtic brawl for all chat in this feature. This is for everyone who reads and comments to chip in with their bets of the weekend and for the punters on here to chip in with suggestions etc.

I’m totally syked are you?!

We’ll start off with the Scottish Cup and Of course our very own Celtic! 2/9 single isn’t very appealing away to Raith Rovers but what is certain is that it’s sure to be a tight affair for the hoops. Especially after our latest cup exploits. Joe Ledley to scoreĀ anytimeĀ is a very tempting 4/1. Draw Celtic at 16/5 may also be of some value as Celtic are normally not the quickest of starters in these types of cup tie.

Dundee United v Rangers is the second of our featured games this week and the 19/20 offered for Dundee United is a fantastic price. Surely the players will be fired up for their new boss Jackie Mac’s first game in charge? Gavin Gunning at 20/1 is a very interesting bet for first goal scorer with Johnny Russell also at a nice 11/2. Will this really be as close as the media are trying to make out? Rangers are struggling for form at the moment especially with their two draws they handed out in recent weeks. Maybe the value punter should look towards the handicap markets for this one.

Dundee United -1 at 12/5 might not be the value you’re looking for but -2 at 13/2 is more like it. Also you can take Dundee United -2 and the game to finish in a handicap tie (So United would have to win by 2 clear goals) at 9/2 which is what I’m throwing my hat on this weekend.

My Scottish Cup 5fold this week is

Dundee United St.Mirren Inverness Dunfermline and Morton which pays 78/1.

6 Aways for this weekend are

Southampton away to Wigan. Burnley away to Peterborough. Brighton away to Sheff.Wed. Brentford away to Yeovil. Partick away to Cowdenbeath.Ā Bournemouth away to MK Dons. This Pays 256/1

Last but not least is theĀ Four Draws Coupon!

Reading V Sunderland. Leeds V Cardiff. Southend V Oxford. Fleetwood v Bradford. Which will pay around 97-100/1

Also new will be a predictor competition between myself and a lucky reader, this week, seeing as we’re new, Dmitri the Spartak Mole has been released on bail and whilst on his way home to Moscow from Glasgow he send me his predictions for the top 5 games of the week.
