Scottish League Cup trophy

It’s been a busy few days for Scottish football with the draws being made for both the League Cup and the Scottish Cup.

The first of the two draws was for the League Cup. The draw for the League Cup semi-finals took place at 5:00 on Saturday the 1st of November and its result created countless headlines for the back pages of newspapers all around the country.

Aberdeen, Celtic, Rangers and Dundee United were all in the pot for the draw with Aberdeen and Dundee United being drawn together first, and that means for the first time in almost 3 years there will be an Old Firm match. This meeting will be the first time the two sides have met since Rangers FC were liquidated in 2012.

The announcement has been heavily welcomed by Celtic fans as well as the Celtic team as it was reported that there was a “huge cheer” from the Celtic dressing room when the draw was made.

The tie is set to be played on either the 31st of January 2015 or the 1st of February 2015 so there is a three mouth wait till match day but the build-up starts now.

The final of the two draws was made today at 2:00 for the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. The Bhoys will face Hearts for the second time this season in cup competition. Celtic will travel to Edinburgh for the fourth round clash at Tynecastle on either the 29th or the 30th of November.

What is your reaction to the two draws?
