Tonight, a new low for the SFA.

Only our intrepid association could actually manage to screw up a national cup draw, live on TV.

Only our association could take something so simple and find a way to complicate it beyond being idiot proof.

Tonight the figure of fun (for everyone else in the UK; every Scottish football fan should be cringing) was our thus far invisible SFA President, Alan McRae, proving absolutely incapable of getting something as simple as lifting balls out of a bowl right.

Serious questions will be asked about this, and they should be.

Dundee Utd had come out first, and lo and behold that gave Celtic another away match. Dumbarton or Dundee was out next … and then something went wrong. McRae dipped his hand into the bowl, and came up with both a ball and a ticket, a ticket that wasn’t even in a ball. He looked at it first … and then he suspended the draw, and took the decision to redo it.

Scottish football. What a laughing stock it is.

In the revised draw Celtic got a home tie, against Morton. And what do you know, but Sevco, should they manage to get past Kilmarnock (not guaranteed at all) will get their traditional home tie, against either Dumbarton or Dundee.

I’ve seen a lot of odd stuff in Scottish football over the years, but that takes the cake.

That was just absolutely ridiculous.
