Today there’s an excellent post up on the famed Scottish Football Monitor site that really does bear looking at.

It confirms the two pieces I put up yesterday; the one that says we’ll get nothing from the Resolution 12 issue until Celtic pursue it properly and the other which was about five big reasons why Celtic fans do not trust the SFA.

The essence of the post is this; John Clark of the Scottish Football Monitor site went to a talk Regan was giving at Edinburgh University. After listening to the presentation he got a question in at the Q&A and made sure to ask about the Resolution 12 campaign.

Regan smugly waved it off as a “West of Scotland issue”, trying to turn it into a Celtic – Rangers – Sevco matter …

John made sure the audience knew that it wasn’t.

Regan, perhaps surprisingly, agreed to speak with him after the event, and it was there that the real meat of the conversation took place.

The SFA Chief Executive told Clark that this matter has been “dealt with”.

As I said yesterday, he’s put the onus onto Celtic now to explain what that means, and to act accordingly.

Clark wasn’t satisfied with that answer.

He pressed on, reminding Regan of all the work that has been done on this issue by large numbers of people, not all of them Celtic fans.

Then he asked a deadly question; “if I were to provide incontrovertible evidence that the club was actually owing money to HMRC, and the debt collectors had been in, what would you do?”

Regan’s answer is telling, but not surprising. “Nothing,” he said.

That’s the SFA attitude in a nut-shell. Even if (actually when, because the Res12 guys have already handed that evidence over) confronted with the hard facts, documented and backed up, the appetite for doing something about this is zero.

The guys have worked tirelessly and diligently, and with a lot of passion … but this matter is dead in the water unless Celtic picks up the threads of it and decides to take it forward.

Yes, that will make it a “Celtic issue” but it’s the only way this thing gets done.

Aside from his refusal to look at, or even consider, evidence, and to ignore it even when it’s clear and unquestionable, Regan also decided to be a condescending sod when Clark told him he would “take that answer back to my people.”

“Who are your people?” Regan sneered. “People who don’t use their real names?”

What an arsey reference to the Internet Bampots, and conveniently ignorant whether wilfully or otherwise of how many of us like John Clark himself, Phil, Angela Haggerty, Paul Brennan, myself and others actually do put our names on everything.

Regan would actually have you believe we’re shadowy individuals working in the dark here; it’s not true in even the remotest sense.

But this is the level of contempt in which he views ordinary fans who’s one sin is that they want to hold he and his colleagues to account for the enormous mess they made over the last five or so years in our game.

And you know something? He better get used to it.

Cause we’re not going away.
