Are Sevco Fans On So Much Vodka They Believe This Red Blue Bull?

Once again we hear the Red Bull rumours.

The same rumours that have been circulating since David Murray was in charge at Ibrox, and have never fully gone away.

“Red Bull are interesting in investing at Ibrox.”

Isn’t it becoming quite sad and pathetic?

“Please, please Red Bull, take us over, so we can compete with Celtic.”

This is directly linked to their absolute belief and demand that someone, anyone, is obliged to give them money!

Money to fund the fantasy. Money to fund the delusions. Money to “prove” how superior they are to everyone else, but especially us.

It was the same with Mike Ashley. “What’s wrong with a billionaire owning us?” etc

Let’s just presume, for a moment, that Red Bull are interested.

Would they simply say to Sevco, “Have some money”? No. First, they will insist that competent people are on the board to look after their investment; that is their business plan. These people would not be “Sevco Peepul” they would be Red Bull people.

So the King would have to abdicate for starters, and his Real Ranjurs Men with him.

Would he do that?

Even if he would, any investment would come with strings that would make the Ashley deal look like good business. These guys do not hand out 100’s of millions, it is not their M.O. They invest an amount to get control and make the club work within it’s means after that, and the rebranding would wipe the club colours off the jersey and their name off the map.

They have done this with all of their football clubs.

They would insist that their brand was involved, and in the name, such as with FC Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig and New York Red Bulls.

So the name of the club/team would have to change …. and we know how touchy they get about that, right?

Most likely, also, the stadium would have to be re-branded and re-named.

Would they want to do this? Wasn’t it one of the “red lines” they said Ashley couldn’t cross?

Red Bull seem to take small clubs and grow them, would they then accept that this means they are that?

This isn’t welcoming in a sponsor and taking the money for a little rebranding; this is auctioning off the club’s soul for cold hard cash.

They, who swore their club would never die (even after it had) seem perfectly willing – even keen – to do just that.

Red Bull will, likely, invest in a British team at some point.

However, when you have clubs like Aston Villa and Leeds looking for this, and with access to much more lucrative leagues, why would Sevco be appealing?

Oh that’s right … their big support. Which outside of Scotland and the North of Ireland is virtually nil.

At least now you know why so many thousands of them travelled to the game this week; it wasn’t for love of the club, it was to advertise its “greatness” to a potential investor, even one that would cut the cord and  throw away all the “traditions” and other paranphenalia that surrounds it.

Some of the media believes this guff, by the way.

How many times has it been said that “no major investment will come to Scotland” by these same people?

All it took was a need for Sevco to brandish the begging bowl for it to move in to the realms of possibility.

They are desperate, they need money badly and they are looking for anyone to help.

Now tell me why that sounds so familiar?

What could possibly go wrong with that?
