Jayden Stockley will escape action from the SFA after his scandalous, thuggish, attack on Kieran Tierney this weekend.

This news comes as no surprise whatsoever.

This gutless organisation was never likely to act, no matter how blatant the incident itself or Stockley’s obvious guilt and how it manifest itself is his complete failure to express remorse, regret or even see if young Kieran was okay.

What is more surprising is that the SFA has found a voice, and given a decision, at all on this. It’s been over a month since the Ibrox game, the pitch invasion, sectarian singing, thrown objects, an attack on our player and the racism directed at the player of the year and the beaks at Hampden have yet to utter one word about any of it.

Nobody trusts these people.

Aberdeen fans who feel vindicated by this decision know full well that the next one might spin different, and cost them. When Stockley did exactly the same thing recently, against Sevco, he got his marching orders. Don’t look for consistency. Don’t look for common sense. Who knows what goes on up there?

The disconnect is profound. Anti-racism organisations weren’t even able to squeeze a comment out of them in relation to the Scott Sinclair incidents so what chance does anyone else have? The reputation of our governing body has tanked.

They no longer have an ounce of moral authority.

Even the cup final presentation produced a moment that had me scratching my head; where was Stewart Regan? Why wasn’t he on the podium, presenting the cup, at Hampden? Is that normal? I checked the footage and he wasn’t there last season either.

What kind of CEO takes a back seat on a day like that?

Someone who simply doesn’t care?

And then there was the curious case of The Green Brigade and that garbage we were expected to believe about them not getting the plans for their tifo submitted on time, which the bhoys have flatly denied on social media.

The SFA is an organisation that runs on pure spite.

Today’s decision on Stockley gives neds like him a license to do whatever they please.

He’s been sent off for it three times this season and it wasn’t even the first time he targeted our young left back. He will do it again. And again. Maybe next time the consequences won’t be something so benign as a broken jaw. If it isn’t, I know who I’ll hold responsible.
