The Cup Final Ticket Fiasco Is Another Circus Act From The SFA

So after all the “Celtic will get their tickets” stuff we heard from the SFA, it seems that Aberdeen may get a sell-out and so will have more tickets than us after all.

Can you get how surprised I am?

No? Good, because I ain’t.

First of all, this is not Aberdeen’s fault. They have asserted that they felt this was wrong and wanted a straight up 50/50 split of tickets. This is true. They have acted honourably, in the spirit of fairness and the spirit of the game.

This was perpetrated by one organisation, the unfit for purpose SFA.

At best they have proved themselves to be utterly inept in the organisation of their showpiece event. It is ineptitude beyond belief.

Now I have never been one to say that in cup finals one side or the other should get more tickets than the other, to begin with. But if either side cannot sell their allocation by an agreed date then they should be offered to the other team.

This is what should have happened in the first place and the organistion of the ground should have been arranged accordingly. As James has already asserted, it seems the SFA are saying that in any showpiece final, to ensure that Celtic get their traditional end at Hampden they must take a lesser ticket allocation.

Think about what that means.

The best and most prominent team in the country will always be outnumbered in a final if the SFA’s version of the 50/50 split occurs.

Now if we accept that this was only a mistake then it is another glaringly awful act of ineptitude and must be reviewed and investigated as to why it was allowed.

However there is another explanation

This is that it is another deliberate attempt to hinder us.

And attempting to hide it behind the “traditional Celtic end” issue.

Now taken in isolation it could be seen as going over the top, but it isn’t isolated is it?

The debacle of Sevco and their European licence is something which we know no-one else would be allowed to get away with.

The peddling of the myth that Sevco are the club who were Rangers.

Things like this have happened before, the SFA’s organisational ineptitude is legendry.

Remember the year Rangers went to the UEFA Cup Final?

Everyone in the Scottish game told the SFA to put in an organisational plan that didn’t clash with the final, and guess what? They waited, and waited, and waited until they were forced into extending the season by a few days to keep everyone as happy as possible, when a plan a few weeks earlier would have removed the need for all the fuss.

When you factor in the relationship with press, SFA and Sevco and by definition the conflict with Celtic and these organisations, you have to wonder if the fuss was made in the press to ensure Aberdeen sell out their allocation.

Again this all emenates from the SFA.

At best they are clowns making our game a circus …

At worst?

You don’t even want to think about it.

David Campbell is a Celtic fan who’s getting increasingly pissed off with the SFA.
