By now everyone knows that Jim Tranyor hangs around Ibrox like the smell of something rotten that you can’t air out and won’t go away. Tonight a new wrinkle in the Ibrox war against truth and the media’s total subservience.
Lee Wallace was asked about the row between the SPL and the SFA, and Celtic’s demand for an inquiry. The journalist in question used the L word; factually accurate and on the money. Wallace refused to engage, saying he didn’t know what the word meant. (I suggest more schooling.)
At that point Traynor stepped into the fray.
“The club wasn’t liquidated. That’s quite wrong and there’s no point asking questions about that,” he said.
And the media allowed him to get away with that.
Listen, those who think this is a minor matter, those who don’t get it, clearly do not understand that if you allow nonsense like that to go unchallenged, if you deny objective reality and you let people invent their own version of it, then it’s all over.
Lies replace truth. Fiction replaces fact. Sooner or later you don’t know what’s real and what isn’t.
This is the foundation of every corrupt government in the world.
And Scottish football governance works on the same principle.
But for media hacks to sit in that room today and be felt total bullshit, like that, and let it go unchallenged is why things are getting worse instead of better. They allow these people to routinely deny everything they don’t like, no matter how clear-cut it is to the rest of us. Whether you believe in the continuation of history and all that cobblers is irrelevant to the simple fact that there is not a sentient human being in Scotland who does not know that Rangers was liquidated.
And for the media to allow a clown like Traynor, who detests them, who has more contempt for them than even I do, to lie to them so brazenly justifies that contempt in spades. Are these people ever going to grow balls? Are they ever going to grow a spine?
Traynor can only get away with what they allow him to.
If any of them had a yard of guts they would refuse to do press briefings whilst that fat lout is in the room.
