Tony Hamilton of the Celtic Foundation has said at the AGM today that he believes our club has raised more money for charity than any other in the UK. He pointed out that our fans don’t get enough credit for the enormous amount of charitable work they do.
The sheer number of fund-raising activities going on with our support is mind-boggling. The cash they have managed to raise is quite incredible. From sleep out’s to the Green Brigade’s food bank collection, the supporters are working as hard off the pitch as the team is working on it. There’s an amazing atmosphere around the club right now, but we are as rooted in our charitable beginnings and as close to those roots as we have ever been.
Celtic supporters are a special lot. We are a special club.
