Why doesn’t Joey Barton ever learn to shut it?

Why do the papers keep on printing the utter bollocks this moron comes away with? I would think neither the player nor the media would want to be reminded of the abject failure that he was in the SPL, after made bold predictions and virtually every title predicted that he would be player of the year. The embarrassment of it should haunt them.

The media in this country is beyond parody.

Hey, since they are all wetting their pants over Graeme Murty and his “turnaround” at Ibrox, let me clue them in on something; Celtic has dropped 20 points in the league this season. That’s terrible, by the standards our club sets itself. But the guy the media is lauding as a hero … he’s dropped 17 points since he took over as manager and allegedly steadied the ship.

The last of his dropped points?

A mere 16 days ago, at home to Hibs.

Title challenge?

Don’t make me laugh.

Celtic aren’t playing well, and everyone knows it.

But a nine point lead in the league will be more than enough to stay ahead of The Comedy Club in Govan or the Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight over in Aberdeen. Murty’s appointment over there is a disaster for them … I cannot articulate that enough. Anyone who doesn’t believe it is ignoring the evidence.

The moronic nature of Barton’s remarks and the way those in the media are salivating at a “possible title race” – from their favourite club, not from Aberdeen or the resurgent Hibs mind you – are missing the point; even underperforming we’re still favourites to win the Scottish Cup, which, based on the idea we’ll win the league means a treble.

The League Cup is already won. A nine point league lead with eleven games to go – and 14 goals better off than Sevco by the way – a Scottish Cup quarter final place and still in Europe. See, if this is the Brendan bubble bursting I’d love to see how they’d cover it if we were sweeping aside every team in sight. Oh wait … we did that last year.

How did they cover it then?

Oh yeah, we had it easy because of the “dreadful standard” of the SPL.

Like I said, beyond parody and beneath contempt.
