Sevco’s most embarrassing fan site is at it again, producing, today, a gem of a piece which really does need to be read to be believed.

In it, they’ve claimed that yesterday’s home win against Levein’s hapless, gutless Hearts team was the performance of “champions elect”. They claimed that their title race is a mere fortnight in the making … and that it started, bizarrely, with a win in the Scottish Cup.

Do you want to tell them or shall I?

This may be one of the most unhinged pieces they have ever written, and I include the barmy “I dreamed a dream” piece of Friday, which I wrote about at the time. They have lost the plot this lot, completely and without question.

“When did (Sevco) become real title contenders?” the piece asks; try never.

Their own answer is no less definitive, but it is highly instructive in ways they never intended. Two weeks ago is when; a culmination of our worst drop in form of the campaign and their own ability to win a few league games in a row. Wow. Impressive.

Note that any further back and they’d have had to encounter the inconvenience of losing at home to Hibs. They would rather air-brush that from the narrative, and as they know two league wins isn’t really proof of a title challenge they threw Ayr United into the mix.

The achievement of beating them was re-branded thus; a fantastic result against “Britain’s highest-scoring domestic side.” And whilst you laugh, they even admit that this is a thoroughly ridiculous comment. “Albeit two divisions below …” Yeah, like it was nothing.

They also brush aside elements of the performance at Hamilton; “an eight goal thriller which saw a deserved win even if we shipped three appalling goals …”

This is their “title winning form”.

A Scottish Cup tie against lower league opposition and losing three to a Hamilton team who played that day like a team who looked like they belonged in the amateur ranks … and still put the ball in the net whenever they showed some attacking imagination. You would not believe this if you weren’t reading it.

This lot need help, but if they got it we would find it hard to replace their comedy.
