Adrian Durham has a big enough mouth, and a big enough megaphone, that he does not need The Daily Record to publicise his moronic, anti-Celtic views.
He is a clown.
He is not a journalist or a serious personality.
He belongs in a circus, in giant feet, scooting water from behind the wheel of a toy car. Promoting his views is like promoting Nigel Farage as a serious politician. There is no merit in a single word that man has to say about the game here.
His views, as telegraphed by The Record tonight – that Brendan should leave now because “the Sevco are coming” are childish attention seeking and that paper has given him exactly what he wants. Because it slags our manager. Because it is pro-Sevco. It does not matter that they are idiotic, that Durham himself is a discredited joke on both sides of the border. This pushes the anti-Brendan tone. It turns up the heat.
Durham is no friend of Scottish football.
He is a goon. A yahoo.
He works on the same show as gave a platform this week to the monster intellect that is Vinny Jones and the cartoon character Barton, who’s disastrous foray into Scottish football should have made him want to hide under the bed.
And what was their argument on the show? That a bunch of drunken, overpaid footballers who broke curfew, got drunk, took a taxi to a junk-food outlet and then nicked the cab hadn’t done anything wrong and that the criticism of them was OTT.
This is the measure of TalkSport, an English based radio station comprised of people whose outlook makes the Daily Mail look both intellectual and liberal and who look upon Scottish football as if it were some kind of stain on the carpet.
Trust the “staff” at “Daily Record Online” to promote such a person just because he has swallowed the idea of Sevco as a club that “has its house in order.”
That’s how removed this joker is from the facts. That’s the level of debate he can offer. They are nine points behind us, leaking money like a sieve, they have just run to a Wonga loan company for emergency financing and in doing so put their balls in a vice, their manager is on a temporary contract … I could go on.
I won’t even engage with his points on Brendan Rodgers, they are so stupid as to require no further consideration.
The Daily Record is an anti-Celtic rag. Durham is an anti-Celtic hack. The two go together almost too perfectly, but in choosing to promote his idiotic views The Record has forfeited any right to pretend that it cares about our wider game.
They care only about their own warped agenda … one that doesn’t wish us well.
