The English Football League has an array of talented stars that can definitely ply their trade at a higher level.

We often see players move from the SPFL to the Championship and vice-versa, and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers needs to keep tabs on on-goings in the second tier of English Football.

There are a number of players who would definitely help enhance Celtic’s squad next season, and ultimately give them a helping hand both in the SPFL and Europe.

We’ve identified THREE EFL stars that would be great signings for the Bhoys….

Aiden McGeady (Sunderland)

Celtic fans know all about Aiden McGeady.

The 31-year-old enjoyed a six-year stint at Celtic Park from 2004 to 2010 and dazzled on the wing for the Bhoyes.

McGeady now finds himself at the sinking ship that is Sunderland and you get the impression that he won’t hang about if the Black Cats do go down to League One.

A return for McGeady to Celtic Park could happen and would definitely be worth a punt – He’d be a great squad player.

Liam Moore (Reading)

Liam Moore has been an ever-present figure at the heart of the Royals’ defence this season, and without him in the side, Jaap Stam’s team could be in the bottom three.

The former Leicester City star is a commanding presence at the back, and his fantastic on the ball, whilst also very strong in the tackle.

Moore has been touted for a move to the Bhoys before and it would be a wise move for Rodgers to go back in for the Reading ace – It would definitely be worth using a free bet on Liam Moore joining Celtic in the summer.

Celtic need to enhance their back-line, with Boyata looking particularly shaky in the 3-2 win over Rangers on the weekend.

Dael Fry (Middlesbrough)

This is certainly a tad more ambitious as Fry is highly-rated at the Riverside Stadium.

At the age of just 20, Fry has excelled for Boro when he has been on the pitch and Celtic should definitely be keeping tabs on the youngster’s development.

His presence in the back-line would improve Celtic ten-fold, and he could become a long-term figure at the back for the Bhoys.
