Just when think the writers at Ibrox Noise could not be trawling through the swamp any lower, they come up with something that makes everything that’s come before seem positively sensible and rational and even honourable. Yes, that’s how bad tonight’s piece is. Written by “Richard”, the guy who’s article I dissected the other night, this one is gleeful over the clubs “revenge” on our supporters and delirious about what it means for their club.

Brace yourselves for a train wreck paragraph that could have come right out of a first time student’s English As A Second Language essay …

“Admittedly Steven Gerrard is only a rookie manager, but wow, what an impact he has already made at our club, with an astonishing record of selling over 40,000 renewed season ticket money already in the bank.”

Man oh man.

“More season tickets for the Broomloan Stand will now be offered for sale to everybody looking to buy a new season book for next season.”

Let’s start with this nonsense about them being able to sell more season tickets; let’s nip this nonsense, fit only for gullible eejits, in the bud right now. As any semi-sane person knows, they already sell season tickets for that stand, as Celtic sells the area their fans traditionally get. But those season tickets all come with a reduced cost.

Many of them have already been sold by both their club and Celtic, and they face a Hell of a decision on how to treat those fans. It’s got the potential to be a huge mess, and it’s one entirely of their club’s making. The act was senseless and stupid and their talk of doing it because of season ticket sales is transparently fictitious.

But the real diseased heart of the piece comes with this throwaway line, as horrible and shocking as anything I’ve ever read on that site, worst of all Sevco sites.

“This will guarantee sell-out crowds at every home game as there will not be many if any for general public sale. This will enable (us) to reduce the amount of time required at the ticket office, with obvious staff cuts to consider to save more money.”

Absolutely despicable. Of all the silver linings to come up with, this diabolical human being thinks it gives the club a window to turf people out of their jobs … and who knows? Maybe someone at Ibrox did factor that into their thinking.

This is the way their minds work over there. Sack some members of the ticket office staff and give the money to Gerrard for his war-chest.

All £50,000 or so of it.

Never mind the impact on the lives of actual people, and probably their own supporters.

Collateral damage.

As another of their editorials said earlier, this is “war” after all.
