A Dire Draw Confirms A Fairly Horrible Stat On A Night Hibs Blow The Chance To Grab Second.

That was a typical end of season match, after the league is won. Or it would have been except for the awful feeling of deja-vu which was in the air throughout. And it confirms a fairly dire statistic; we have won the title, and may well win a domestic treble, in a season where we have failed to win four SPL games on the bounce. Needless to say, that’s awful.

It confirms my worst fears from months ago; that we would complete the season with that horrendous fact hanging over us; we have failed to win one in every three league games. And although it’s been good enough … it’s really not good enough, is it?

I saw it coming tonight the minute I saw the starting line-up, with no strikers in the team. We need to hope now that at least one of them is fit for the cup final.

Our midfielders have scored a lot of goals this season, but none looked likely to do it tonight against a packed defence. Our defenders had a better night; someone will need to explain to me in words that make sense just why Simonuvic had his goal chopped off.

That’s a shocking decision.

Aberdeen come to town for the last game of the SPL campaign at the weekend; I want us to trounce them and I really don’t care where that leaves Sevco.

Hibs blew their chance tonight against Hearts in another game where the Tynecastle club showed off their neddish approach, but where Lennon couldn’t find the spark his team needed. Hibs have had a good run but they end the campaign playing for nothing but pride.

Us completing the treble gives them Europe anyway.

Beyond that I couldn’t care how the rest of the table looks. Aberdeen haven’t been good enough to close the deal on their own and we are not a charity.

Let’s hammer McInnes mob at the weekend regardless of how it leaves the league table. Let’s finish the dismal SPL campaign in style.
