Gordon Smith And His “Bigger Name Than Brendan” Nonsense. What A Clown That Man Is.

All this week we have had the usual ex players and managers coming out in the press telling all and sundry how wonderful it is that Steven Gerrard is to be new Sevco boss, and never mind the fact no deal has been struck yet.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a new piece of nonsense comes out.

“Gerrard will have money … why else would he be considering it?”

Oh I don’t know … maybe they told him lies?

Would it really be surprising?

Today it’s Derek McInnes telling us how good he would be for Scottish football.

Much of Scottish football doesn’t give a monkeys.

However the most crazy I have seen was today in The Sun, a backpage headline and an article from that eejit Gordon Smith, the one who used to be at the SFA and at Ibrox and who thinks the governing body is historically biased against the clubs there.

For The Sun to write anything on Liverpool or people there is, of course, ridiculous in the first place, but we’ll cover that at another time.

When they wheel out an idiot like this what do they expect but idiotic commentary, and he didn’t disappoint.

“Rangers will have bigger name in Steven Gerrard than Celtic have in Brendan Rodgers if he lands Gers job says Gordon Smith”

That was the headline, and I didn’t even bother to edit Rangers out of it.

That may actually be his opinion, as its its a subjective viewpoint but this is further reason the phrase “it’s all about opinions” is such cobblers.

Kids in schoolyards have opinions.

Nobody would be asking them for their views on nuclear engineering.

Think about the “logic” of the Gordon Smith argument here.

What this idiot has failed to consider, cos he is biased and doing the bidding of the club, is that just because Gerrard has a big name it doesn’t make him a good football manager. You could debate all day whether or not his name is “bigger” than Brendan’s but it’s comparing apples to oranges until Gerrard has achieved something in the dugout.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro would both be bigger names than Brendan Rodgers but they know precisely sod all about football management, which is just slightly less than Gerrard. An under 18 manager, Murty had more qualifications for the gig he was just sacked from.

A name alone means nothing. You must be up to the job.

I get why they don’t want to think in those terms; it suggests that this could be a disaster, which any sane person already recognises.

For every Pepe Guardiola there are two John Barnes’.

For all the hype, this won’t be keeping our manager up at night.

He’s seen off more rivals already than Anthony Joshua.

Let Gerrard come.

We’ll be counting the days before he’s gone like the rest of them.

David Campbell is getting sick and tired reading the nonsense coming out of the Scottish newsrooms.
