Is Murdo McLeod Still A Level 5 Stooge? He Should Keep His Mouth Shut On Dembele.

We need Murdo McLeod trying to convince Moussa Dembele that Dortmund is a good move for him like we need Jim Traynor as our head of public relations.

I mention the two of them in the same statement because it’s important to remember that McLeod is an ex-Celt who once made part of his living running alongside the Sevco PR pit-bull. And it might well be that he still does. He was being named in their press releases and doing promo work this time last year.

His relationship with them goes back to the start.

When Level 5 was launched, McLeod was one of the people who signed on to give the company his endorsement.

I won’t go into the list, but there were a couple of other ex-Celt’s on it along with people like Walter Smith and Ally McCoist.

What’s more, on the day of the launch he was there in person, alongside Smith, Traynor and the Level 5 co-founder, Stephen Kerr, one of the Ibrox press officers.

Sevco has retained their services on and off ever since.

These are the people who continuously push the Old Firm myth. People completely on board with the Survival Lie.

McLeod has done a lot of stuff for them over the years, and for a while had a blog on Ladbrokes.com, who are represented in Scotland by Traynor’s mob. That this creates a conflict of interest between Sevco and the league hardly needs pointing out, but nobody ever brings it up for some reason, except on the blogs from time to time.

When John Collins was assistant at Celtic and was being attacked from all sides after he said that Celtic are hampered in their quest for European football success by the fact we play in one of the lesser leagues, McLeod was one of the loudest voices in condemnation.

But he did it in his column for the bookmakers, and that means he did it for Level 5.

It wasn’t the only time. On one occasion even took a shot at Celtic with their big board at his back. I don’t trust him as far as I could throw him. Being here at Celtic Park in the Year We Stopped The Ten doesn’t matter.

I have written about this subject before, and so has Paul67 over on CQN. It is not a surprise to me that McLeod is making waves at a time when the word is that we’re offering Dembele a new deal. He won’t be the last person to stick his two-bob in.

I know he played for Dortmund … but seriously.

Is it a shock that he seems to have more loyalty to them than us?

Of course not.

With some people, the word has lost all meaning.

Really, it’s pathetic. At a time when everyone at Celtic Park is thinking positively, one of our so-called “legends” – a word I do not use to describe him – wants to talk this kind of nonsense. As I said, it’s not a surprise. It’s infuriating though that he will probably earn out if it.
