The Barmy Sevco Website Is Now Edging Shockingly Close To Libelling Dangerous Men.

Ibrox Noise has tonight published an article accusing the SPFL chairman of “covering his tracks” by altering his social media profiles, and of his position at the Irish media company at the heart of the Sevco fans barmy, and self destructive, campaign as being “under threat.” This implies a number of things and gets them into legally dodgy territory.

The first thing it implies is that MacLennan has done something wrong. Not even Dave King has gone as far as to level an actual allegation against him. But why would someone be “covering his tracks” unless there was something to cover? The allegation that his position at INM is similarly at risk suggest that either he or they have something to hide and want him out of that role before whatever it is becomes apparent.

Libelling people comes naturally to these folk, but MacLennan is a man who will be no stranger to the laws in that area and his employers at INM are men who are no strangers to litigation whenever they believe they are being falsely accused.

As I said, it is unclear what Ibrox Noise or other sites believe these men have done.

Are we already living in the age of Thought Crime?

Is that what’s being alleged here?

Read carefully what Ibrox Noise is asserting King is up to: “He is exerting significant influence and pressure on cases of clear bias or anti-Rangers sentiment.”

Where has bias or even anti-Sevco sentiment been proved in this case? Where has either of those things even been properly alleged except in articles like the one I’m highlighting? These people are in danger of crossing a very big line.

The journalistic world appears full of people who all of a sudden have embraced conspiracy theories. Graham Spiers was the latest to offer King’s vicious witch-hunt his full throated support at the weekend; are these people serious?

Not a soul has been able to identify one situation in which MacLennan or Gary Hughes acted inappropriately whilst serving at the SFA or the SPFL. Investigating the UEFA license of 2011 is something that Stewart Regan agreed with before he left his post, for God’s sake. This is nothing more than a scandalous mud-slinging exercise.

And it’s getting close to being one that lands those doing it in trouble.
