Isn’t The Scottish Media In A Shameful Hurry To See Good Players Leaving Our League?

The Scottish media is having a disgraceful day today, more disgraceful than most days. They are trying hard to unsettle us, aren’t they? They are trying hard to cast doubt on the futures of as many of our players as they can.

It’s Tierney, Simunovic and Griffiths at the moment. It was Dembele, again, earlier on. Armstrong was always going to go, so they got their story there … but Rogic defied their expectations and signed a new deal. No matter how many times we deny stories linking our players with other clubs – no matter how many times the players and manager say they aren’t for sale – the media keeps it up. Sometimes subtly, and sometimes not.

Gordon Waddell didn’t bother with subtlety. He wants Kieran to leave. He brazenly claims he wants this for Kieran’s own good. But these people don’t give two shits about the wellbeing of our players and we know that full well.

These people want Brendan Rodgers’ team broken up and that’s all well and good and all pretty predictable, but their rush to get some of the best players in Scotland out of the country and out of our league is appalling.

These people moan endlessly about our inability to attract the “Larsson’s and Laudrup’s” these days whilst they run this garbage? They talk about Gerrard as being great for the game and “box office” whilst trying to rush our top stars south?

Who are these people trying to kid? Shame on them.

This is the ultimate version of talking down our game, and they wouldn’t be doing it if their favourite team was better.

It’s clear that is Sevco were able to afford this calibre of player that nobody would be singing these songs.

Their problem is that it’s Celtic and Celtic alone who can field these kind of players. That infuriates their media allies. It’s not that Scottish football is not good enough for these kind of footballers, it’s that Celtic is too good with them.

Nobody is fooled by this fake concern for Kieran and Griffiths and Moussa.

It’s not for their good that the media wants them moved on.

It’s for the good of their favourite club.

Unable to boost them and make them better, all that’s left is to tear us down.
