Sevco fans are having no luck at the moment, or perhaps they are. It’s difficult to be sure.

Because their supporter liaison has announced that for the second game in a row in Europe there will be no official charter to the game. The same old excuses are being trotted out over it; that the price would be so high as to render it prohibitive.

I spoke to someone today who experienced Thomas Cook’s organisational skills back when they were working with Celtic, and that person was unimpressed by both their prices and their methodology. But they generally managed to put some kind of package together.

In the first two attempts here they’ve failed, and that makes me wonder.

Is this issue on their side or on the club’s? Could there be a reason that Sevco doesn’t want its supporters to have an official charter? Well the answer to that is obvious; of course there is. If fans travel there on their own hook and buy tickets separate from the club and those same fans are sanctioned by UEFA later on the club can say it had nothing to do with them. Is Sevco ashamed of its own fans? Or does it fear the trouble they might cause?

Either way, Sevco fans are entitled to feel that this is another area where their club isn’t doing what it’s supposed to, another proof that King and his board lack the first clue. The evidence is piled high around them that their chairman and his cohort are utterly incompetent, but they never seem to get it through their heads.

Last week was the strip fiasco, now there is this.

Does that club get anything right, apart from tying the SFA in knots as it scrambles desperately to escape justice for the sins of the club whose name and history it pretends are its own?
