Sevco fans are fuming today with the news that Lassana Coulibaly is set to snub a loan move to Ibrox so that he can go on loan to a team in France’s second tier. They are struggling to understand why he does not see the greatness of the club and the genius of Steven Gerrard. They cannot comprehend how he can reject “a shot at the title.”

Delusional fools. The guy probably knows more than they think.

If this deal doesn’t go through, it will be a blow to Gerrard and the Wheelie Bin Revolution.

That much is pretty clear.

All the moaning and wailing on the Sevco fan sites will not hide that fact.

Nor too can they hide the fact that Liverpool aren’t being quite so forthcoming on the favours as they had hoped; Wilson might not be moving to Celtic but he’s certainly not going to Ibrox.

Coulibaly probably isn’t either now, and the press reports that they want a defender from Millwall all came with the noteworthy detail that Sevco’s offer is far below what the club values him at. Scratch that one off the list, then.

Also, on the day when the papers have to report that their scandal hit chairman is facing a contempt of court proceeding and possible jail-time (and whatever happened to that share issue? Anyone?) we have the sudden resurgence of a non-story about Jermaine Defoe.

Coincidence?

I think not.

Sevco fans, here’s a squirrel to chase.

As everyone’s aware, they also released the details of their three kits yesterday, furiously scrambling to pretend that one of them wasn’t orange.

Hey, they’re either proud of where they come from or they’re not.

Think Celtic would deny that the colour on our home shirt is green?

Their club has no shame at the best of times, except on this?

Sadly for the fans who are gleeful about the “orange” shirt, they still have no place to sell them and no clear date for the “launch.”

One positive thing comes out of the Coulibaly development; it takes pressure off the SFA to give this guy a work permit when he otherwise wouldn’t qualify for one. That makes it all the more likely that they’ll give one to the Roma reserve.
