Pre-Season Round Up

With the 2018/19 season just around the corner, it is time to start looking into what Celtic are doing in their preparations to take the SPL by storm again this year. For me, it is also the time to place some season long bets on how the Hoops will fair, sports betting online simply adds a little bit of extra spice to the occasion doesn’t it? I like to place my season bets with Betolimp as they have some great SPL odds and this year I fancy Celtic to win by at least 10 points, you heard it here first.

Ahead of the start of the season then, let’s have a look at what has been going on around Celtic Park.

Rodgers Missing Out

The result of Sweden and Belgium reaching the Quarter Finals of the World Cup have caused Brendan Rodgers with something of a headache, as it means that he won’t have Dedryck Boyata or Michael Lustig available for selection in the team’s Champions League qualifier against Alashkert. On paper Celtic should fly through this match with ease, even without the missing players, but there are always banana skins out there and Rodgers will want to make a statement ahead of the season.

TV Deals

Celtic fans will be able to watch the team’s European challenge live on Premier Sports, who have the rights to the Glasgow side’s games. Should Celtic beat Armenian side Alashkert, they could have a tough second round match up against Rosenberg, and fans will be able to watch it through the Premier Sports channel.

Derby Change

The much anticipated first Old Firm derby of the year will now take place on the 2nd of September at 12 noon. Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side will be heading across the city to visit his old boss, in what looks set to be a cracker of a derby match up.

Transfer Talk

Celtic braced themselves for a tough summer with much interest expected for Moussa Dembele, although as yet there have been no offers or strong talk from any of his potential suitors. Naturally this could change but as yet, all seems quiet on the Dembele front.

Kieran Tierney has caught the interest of Everton and reports have surface in England this morning that they are ready to table a bid for the Celtic star. As we understand it, Celtic would be reluctant to let Tierney go, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility that it could happen, assuming the deal was attractive enough.

Young Liverpool midfielder Harry Wilson looked set to return on loan to Celtic this year but the move has now been blocked by the Reds. The Liverpool Echo reports that Liverpool were not happy with the way that Celtic used their loan players last year, and as such have stood against the young man making the move up north for the coming season.
