The Best Celtic Transfer Stories Of The January Window (So Far.)

|

Timothy Castagne

A quality footballer and no mistake. If we could pull this deal off it would be the steal of the century, even at the prices being quoted. He is a fantastic defender and has a great engine going forward; he is on the right what Kieran Tierney is on the left.

An exciting prospect this one, but there are significant obstacles in the way of getting a deal done.

His club wants more money than we may be willing to offer. There’s substantial interest in him from other clubs, and he appears to fancy Spain or Germany, even staying Italy, as an alternative to the SPL and you can’t really hold that against him or any footballer.

We’ve moved on in terms of looking at other targets, but nobody at Celtic has entirely given up on it either.

As long as there’s a whiff of a chance that something could happen here this is a light that won’t be switched off until an alternative deal is over the line, because he’s our absolute first choice and we’ll be disappointed if we have to sign someone else.

Difficult, not impossible. I understand why we’re moving forward with other targets, but I also know why we’re not entirely rejecting this one as a possibility yet.
