Odsonne Edouard was photographed being put through his paces at Lennoxtown today. It looks as if he’s in with more than a fighting chance of being fit for the cup final.

Neil Lennon said at the press conference the other day that they were hopeful of having him back in full training this morning, but lingering doubts over it remained.

That Edouard has managed to get there is great news for every one of us.

I always thought he’d start. I thought he was being kept in cotton wool for this match.

Lennon said he will not risk him unless he’s 100% – which is just good sense – but you have to think everyone at the club, and the player most of all, will want him to play.

Provided he didn’t break down during the session, he’ll almost certainly be taking his place in the starting eleven.

It is the news that no-one in Sevconia will have wanted to hear. If other players, like Elyounoussi, make it then it starts to shape up as the kind of day that could leave psychological scars on this Ibrox team, who are still wracked in doubt from Wednesday.

The media has been hyping how we’d get on without him, but Callum delivered a perfect slap-down to the hacks yesterday when he predicted that we’d manage just fine. Whilst I agree that he was correct to say so, it’s not a decision I wanted us to make.

It looks as if we won’t have to.

We’re going to have close to a full-strength team for the weekend.

You can feel the fear wafting out of Ibrox already, can’t you?
