Tonight we’re in Perth and the match should be an interesting one, and in particular I’ll be watching the manager’s tactical decisions before and during the game.

When we reverted back to the 4-2-3-1 at the weekend I thought it was a mistake, and in particular the decision to play Griffiths as the sole striker, a role to which he is grossly unsuited.

The manager said it was because Edouard has a foot injury, and therefore wasn’t able to start.

The player himself responded to that when he came on and scored twice.

Lennon acknowledges that he’s now fully fit.

He will most definitely start this one.

But will the manager go with the two up front again, giving Griffiths another chance or perhaps even letting us see Klimala from the start? Soro is not in the squad, so this is our only chance tonight to see one of the January signings.

It’s been an underwhelming window, and that will only be echoed if we don’t see the Polish front man start to get game time.

The squad now has four fit strikers.

That’s a sheer waste if we’re playing one man up front.

We should be looking to rotate these guys and other players in the squad. Whilst I understand the idea of playing our “strongest squad” every week there are players in that squad who need an extended break and Lennon should be looking to give them one.

The tactics tonight should reflect the overall composition of this squad.

A solid midfield block and two up front. Whether that’s a 4-3-1-2 or the 3-5-2 which was so effective at Rugby Park comes down to whether Lennon wants wingers or wing-backs; either way, these should be his premier options. One up front tonight makes no sense whatsoever.

Yet we might well go for it anyway, especially as Ryan Christie is likely to be back in the starting eleven. We can only guess at what impact that will have on the manager’s plans.

Today has been a day of much ridiculous nonsense online.

I’ll discuss some of the more bizarre stuff tomorrow, and it’s not even transfer rumours.

For now, let’s just focus on the match and on getting another three points.

See you all on the other side.
