According to The Sun this evening, Neil Lennon’s time as manager of Celtic is OVER and he will be replaced by John Kennedy until the end of this campaign.
There are no given reasons for this. The story has literally just broken. There is no information as to what has happened except that the report says the board has been in “crisis talks” since the defeat at the weekend. Clearly this is momentous news if true.
What we have to do now is reflect on what this means; Kennedy until the end of the season is a stop-gap measure and nothing more. You would think the new manager would be being sought right now with a view to coming in more or less before the campaign ends … Kennedy will understand that, and it makes good sense.
Apparently the weekend was the last straw; I am pretty surprised if that’s the case. It may be that something has happened behind the scenes as well to make it untenable.
Either way, it looks like we’re now in the end game.
