Hacks Split Down The Middle On Tomorrow As Ange-Ball Has Them Fearful

The hacks at The Record gave their views on tomorrow, and I found them interesting in a number of ways.

Those who think Celtic will win are split 50/50 with those who think the Ibrox club will.

The rest have gone for a draw, with some of them thinking the score will be 3-3.

I am quite surprised at that; these guys really do have it in their heads that our defence will just fold the hand at the first sign of pressure.

Look again at the goals we conceded in midweek; two moments of absolute madness, not the sort to be repeated in a hurry.

Look at the goal that was scored. A carbon copy of the one at Celtic Park against AZ from the same player.

We have rocked these people to the core.

They believed, they absolutely believed, that the vast points gap from last season was reflective of the positions of the two clubs.

They believed Ange would take too long to stamp his mark on the side.

They completely over-estimated the impact of those early games and what they meant.

The idea that Ange might have fast answers, that we might well have a better squad, that we definitely have better individual players, has hit them like a sledgehammer, which is why they are focussed solely on the negatives.

To do otherwise focuses on why things might be going our way.

Before Ange started to stamp his mark on this team you looked at a squad which had lost so many players and wondered “what can this guy do in such a sort space of time?” It’s incredible.

We face the closure of the window in a couple of days, and although we expect to lose Edouard we look set to have, at a minimum, a top striker in Kyogo and the guy who finished top scorer in Holland last year, in a playing system which rewards attacking football.

We are almost unrecognisable, and even those who can’t quite bring themselves to tip us to win think we have enough firepower to make it an uncomfortable afternoon for their favourites.

They are right, and this team is just getting started.
