The Idiots At The Record Are Already Spending Money Van Bronckhorst Hasn’t Got.

UNION BEARS

You have to laugh at them, you really do.

The Record today produced a list of the Dutch players that Von Bronckhorst might try to bring to the club.

Top of the list is the midfielder their fans were all drooling about last season. He would cost them £7 million at a minimum. That’s where most normal people would have stopped reading their piece of dreck.

Let’s put it this way; if there was any chance that they could spend money like that, Gerrard might not have fled like Ibrox was a burning building.

You could not mark their necks with a blow torch.

They do really believe that money grows on trees and that the Ibrox club has an unlimited supply of it. They really do believe that the restraints and restrictions which effect every club in world football don’t apply.

Ibrox is a place with only the most fleeting relationship to reality at the best of times, but whenever they appoint a new manager this is the nonsense that the press fills up with.

The daft part about it, of course, is that they usually do find money from somewhere to fund his grand ambitions. But last season’s momentous losses have ended all that.

But you can’t get these people to engage with the facts, and this has major implications for the club as I will discuss later.

The manager himself knows what he’s been brought to Ibrox to do and under what conditions, so all this does is gets up the hopes of the fans and prepares them either for major disappointment or provokes them to fury.

The Record’s “journalists” obviously believe this nonsense.

To them it is inconceivable that an Ibrox boss will come in and not spend money.

It doesn’t matter how insane it is to do so.

For the hacks and their supporters, it would be more abnormal not to.
