Kyogo Set To Be “Back Within The Week” For Celtic … If Nothing Goes Wrong.

I had the pleasure of doing today’s presser with the manager alongside some of the mainstream press, and the news on the injury front isn’t really that much different than what we expected.

Forrest is a doubt for the final, with an injury which isn’t related to his previous one.

We still have nobody who looks as if they’ll beat the deadline to play tomorrow.

Worse than all of that is the news that Mikey Johnston can now be added to the growing list of casualties; the status on him is not known but let’s face it, we should fear the worst.

He’ll be looked at over the next few days.

But on Kyogo at least the news is a little better.

According to Ange he is estimated to be “back within the week” with his progress being evaluated day-to-day.

He’s not ruled in for the final at the moment, but the important thing is that he’s not ruled out either.

The little Japanese Bhoy looks as though he’s on course for a Hampden return.

Obviously this is as good a piece of news as we could have hoped for, and it goes some way towards making up for all the not-so-nice news on other injury fronts. We are struggling here in the front area and every piece of bad news only makes that worse.

Kyogo being ready to return would be a real change of pace.

Ange did sound one note of caution on his estimated return; “If nothing else goes wrong.”

Our entire season so far, as far as injuries go, has been a constant case of stuff going wrong, so it’s easy to see why he’s tampering down expectations.
