Celtic Fans Should Steer Clear Of Any Attempt To Drag Us Into The Ibrox Abuse Cesspit.

With the Ibrox fan-base ramping up the hatred, and with our visit to their ground next Sunday certain to be a bile-soaked experience, there are some in our support who are debating whether or not we should respond in kind, and in particular with some sort of demonstration asking what senior officials at Ibrox knew of their own historic abuse cases.

I cannot stress enough how bad that idea is.

I have heard it from various places, and I understand completely the impulse; it is right to be angry at the way they have used this issue, flagrantly, shamelessly, disgracefully.

That does not convey on us the least justification for acting in a similar disreputable manner.

It would simply be wrong by any measurable standard. The Peepul we are up against have a dark obsession with this stuff which betrays their motives.

The question we have to ask ourselves, always, is this; do we care about this issue or do we care about scoring points?

Because if we have respect for the victims we’ll leave this stuff alone.

Ibrox’s fans are the most shameless hypocrites on this stuff, and we all know that to be the case. The merest mention of their own scandals outrages them, even as they rake through the coals of what they allege happened at Celtic Park.

This stuff does not belong in football stadiums.

It is a grotesque thing to be using to score cheap points, and Celtic fans should have nothing to do with it.

Let them wallow in filth on their own. Let them continue to disgrace themselves and shame their club by weaponizing this subject and showing the world how little regard for the victims they have.

Because that’s what it comes down to; if you do care about those who suffered you will not use this as a stick to beat someone with.

The victims deserve justice and until they get it the very least they deserve is to be treated with dignity and respect, and using their suffering as a means of embarrassing your rivals is simply not on.
