It came as no surprise whatsoever, but it was welcome nonetheless.

Ange has confirmed at today’s press conference that the only Celtic player who won’t be fit for selection this weekend is James Forrest. The Famous Name will be disappointed not to be in the squad, but the fans have been lifted by the ultimate in good news.

Kyogo is back. He’s fit. And whilst the boss won’t give away any of his plans for the team or for the game, you have to think he’ll at least get a place on the bench. What a wonderful option for Celtic to have available to them late in a critical fixture.

This is the strongest Celtic squad we’ve had going into a big game this season, and by quite a distance. The manager has so many options, in so many positions, that it would be mad to try to predict what line-up he’s going to put out for it.

But one thing is for sure; we’ve got more firepower in this side than they’ve faced in this campaign, and this will increase the feeling that many of us have that Sunday is going to be a massive day for our club, and one we’ll look back on with a lot of joy.

I don’t expect Kyogo to start. We don’t know what kind of shift he’s been putting in on the training pitch, but he lacks match-fitness, although I would bet on him being sharp and ready to go. If we somehow find a way to get him and Giakoumakis in the same side, firing on all cylinders, I don’t’ think they could possibly have an answer for it.

But I reckon we’ll have to make do with seeing him on the bench, which in itself gives us a massive dose of confidence because he is the sort of player top clubs want to be able to introduce to a match if something needs changing in it. Just seeing his name on the team-sheet will give us all a lift, and we’re already feeling pretty good.

Yes, even if Kyogo has no real chance of playing at all against The Rangers – just having him on the bench will mess with their heads! 🙂

We should have a pretty strong bench on Sunday, and which is why we should win the League – and hopefully the SC too!
