Despite Ex-Ibrox Player’s Pitiful Ranting, Celtic Can Certainly Afford Carter Vickers

Ex-footballer and failed pundit (let’s fact it, when you played at Ibrox and can’t even get a job at the BBC you have failed, period) Alan Hutton has been doing what he does best; talking absolute garbage about Celtic.

But of course. It’s the only way for a guy like this to make headlines anymore.

And what kind of dreck is he promoting this time?

Only that Celtic may not be able to afford Cameron Carter Vickers because the fee could be as high as £10 million.

It’s as if these guys need constantly reminding How The Real World Works.

Because in The Real World we’re still in surplus for this season’s transfer trading. We are still profitable. We are still well run. We are on course for a £40 million Champions League cash pile. These are the facts of the case and they are undisputed.

Equally undisputed is that Celtic has first refusal on Carter Vickers, and for a set fee which is not subject to any of the imaginary fluctuations which this idiot and others like appear to believe exist. I mean, I understand that he and others who hail from Ibrox interpret all contracts as being more or less optional and open to re-interpretation but the rest of us get this stuff.

Celtic can more than afford it.

Celtic are certainly willing to pay that number, whatever that number happens to be.

The club is in a good position here and the word from those in the know, close to the deal, claim that the big guy himself is willing to sign for us.

Which all sort of leaves Hutton desperately flailing here, with no facts to fall back on although the media seems happy to reproduce his words as if they were sensible and not stone stupid.

For the rest of us we can only shake our heads in bewilderment at this guy, so dumb that Ricky Foster has a mainstream media gig ahead of him.
