Here We Go Again With Another Round Of Juranovic Transfer Bollocks.

I’ll bet you were relieved when the Juranovic story seemed to have died away, eah?

Not because you were worried about the prospect of us selling a guy who is happy at the club and has been here for less than a year, but because frankly the story had become a crippling bore and the people who had pushed it had lost some of their credibility if they even had any.

Today, we’re back to square one with mainstream media sites and even some of the Celtic ones breathlessly reporting interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Based on what? Lurid speculation on a clickbait site with all the typical fishy keywords.

“(This site) understands that …” and it’s there where I usually laugh politely and draw my own conclusions.

Other things stand out too.

Such as that he’s one of a number of targets “being considered” and that no actual bid has been submitted, and nor might one end up being submitted. Clubs everywhere are looking at players. This is not news.

All these stories track back to a single source, and I’m not giving that single source the publicity of naming them or providing a link either. This is what they have to say.

“A number of clubs have expressed an interest in Juranovic, including Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, and earlier in the summer he admitted to being flattered by such a link.”

Two lies – or at least gross exaggerations – for the price of one there.

The Madrid story was utter nonsense, and has been debunked.

No club has expressed an official interest in Juranovic, and Celtic has confirmed that.

Juranovic himself knows of the link only from what’s in the news and his comments were actually centred around hoping the stories were true because it meant he was playing well.

“It is believed Celtic would consider a sale but they would demand more than £15m to green-light a deal,” the piece says on top of the whopper I just highlighted.

And I ask again what I asked when this same assertion was made by the Romano; who exactly is it who believes that?

Nobody at Celtic expects the player to leave nor wants him to.

The player himself is happy at Celtic and dying to play in the Champions League.

His agent has flatly denied that they are looking to move him on.

So who believes this?

Honestly, it is tiresome having to write about this stuff over and over again.

This is nothing more than people fishing for clicks writing the worst sort of nonsense, stuff that they don’t even have to stand up or substantiate and which our media loves to highlight because it gives their own lazy hacks some guaranteed hits and an easy ride.

Juranovic will be a Celtic player when the window shuts in three weeks.

None of the parties who matter here has the least interest in any sort of transfer bid even if one were forthcoming and none of these articles – not one of them – even pretends that such a bid has been submitted.

I don’t think that one is even remotely likely to be, with every club well aware of what a futile exercise any such bid would be.

These guys need to change the record.

This one is already doing our heads in.

  • Johnny Green says:

James if it is tiresome writing the same stuff over and over again, then the simple answer is DON’T.

I frankly find it tiresome reading it over and over again. 🙂

    • Seppington says:

I’m tired of reading comments like this!
James moans about it but writes about it for site clicks as that’s what pays the bills so he has an excuse as there’s something in it for him. There’s no monetary benefit for yourself so why do you return to read it again and again? And moan about it again and again?

  • Seppington says:

They can sod right off with that £15m pish, the boy is worth at least twice that much. It’s obvious to anyone that the lad exudes quality regardless of whether he’s in hoops or the chequered shirt of his country and thus £15m is a joke, frankly. He can leave next year for a real fee with the club’s blessing and the club’s bank balance swole!

  • SSMPM says:

I know this is all speculation but you’ve wrote it so I’ll play the game. We don’t need to sell and not this soon at £15m, so that can be an initial pretend rejected bid. However if a pretend £25/30m bid was finally made, I’d say sell. We have Ralston and the difference for me is minimal enough to enable a pretend sale.

It was put out originally by the DR (surprise) to do one thing, to try and mess with the players head. Surprised any Celtic supporter takes it seriously. Its a snide tactic they use time and again. They were buildin a road tae England for Tierney long before Arsenal actually did come in. Linkin him with all sorts of clubs. Speculative shite.

    • Johnny Green says:

Yes, but that speculative shite helped push the eventual price up, so let them speculate all they want and let their publicity unwittingly bolster our players profile and value in the transfer market.

      It’s a win/win.

      • Kevan McKeown says:

Prob right, but the price of the player will usually go up by its own merit anyway. It doesnae need fukwits and clowns tryin to unsettle a player for their own agenda. Nothin tae dae wi the players interests wi these sewer rats, that’s no important where their real motivation lies.

  • John S says:

    Supercalifragilisticexpyallyspeculatious.

  • SFATHENADIROFCHIFTINESS says:

“ This one is already doing our heads in”.

    You’ve answered it yourself.

That’s the whole point of airing the nonsense.
As well as the low possibility of destabilising the player, I don’t believe he reads the
Daily Rectum or the SMSM in general, it also causes ructions amongst the fans.
Witness the previous posts some believers, some doubters, some speculating on price, some disgusted at a lowball price and some being pragmatic
