Kris Boyd Has Gone To Town On Morelos, Flatly Contradicting His Own Daft Comments.

Obviously, there are two massive stories across the city today although the media is doing its damnedest not to explore one of them. The other is simply too big to keep a lid on. Morelos has been dropped from their European squad, the dressing room has turned on him and “contract talks” – haha – are said to be “on hold.”

This story has wide-ranging implications. I’ll get to those in an article a little later on. For now, let’s focus on the way this story is being covered by one specific individual; Kris Boyd. Today he has opened up on Morelos with a flamethrower.

According to Boyd, he’s unfit. He is more undisciplined off the field than he is on it. (Which is saying something.) He is regarded within the walls of the club as untrustworthy.

According to Sky Sports’ resident goon, Morelos turns up late for training, doesn’t apply himself and acts out off the pitch, something this blog has been saying for years and which the media has studiously ignored for just as long, although it clearly has an impact on his football.

None of this is exactly a secret, although the depths of the anger at Morelos from inside the dressing room is much worse than anything that was in the public domain. This has been a bomb ticking away nicely for a while. What a time for it to go off.

But Boyd certainly knew a lot of this, if not all of it, before now. So he knew that Morelos was not going to have an impact on the club this season, except a negative one. Yet when the discussion about the best player in the country came up recently, and Jota’s name was mentioned, he scorned that and threw Morelos’ name out there.

We all said at the time it was a stupid act, made totally reflexively so as not to have to admit that the best player(s) in Scotland are at Celtic Park … it was always likely to be something he would have to backtrack on. But this is quite the reversal, even for him.

He has torched Morelos today. He has absolutely torched him, and he’s done so in a manner which indicates that he knows full well that Morelos’ jacket has been on a shoogly nail for months.

The media is great at holding people to account .. or at least, the people it chooses to.

I’ll return to that subject later.

But some within it should be held to account as well, and I hope the next time McFadden and others have Boyd in front of them they put this opinion of his on the rack and stretch it until you can hear him scream.

This is further proof of what a clown that man is, and why he shouldn’t be anywhere near a TV studio.
