Deranged Rival Forum Goes After The Celtic Boss With Bizarre Allegation About The Queen.

There are a lot of us in Celtic cyberspace who keep an eye on the forums and websites of our rivals, all the better to see what they are getting up to over there. Last night, as I was shutting everything down, my attention was drawn to something over on the darkest of those forums, the one with the dark obsessions. Even I was surprised by what I found.

There is an entire thread – at the time of writing that thread has five pages, 212 replies and eight thousand views – called “Postecoglu being disrespectful towards The Queen.”

I was amazed even reading the title.

“When in God’s name did this happen?” I wondered, and so I went to check it.

It apparently happened during the pre-match press conference. Thankfully, one of them had posted the entirety of the thing so his fellow moon-howlers could see for themselves.

“Full video here, skip to 11:39 for the question then insincere answer,” he helpfully suggested. And the second I read that and saw the words ‘insincere answer’ I knew that this was going to be the absolute height of nonsense, and of course it was.

“Could you imagine the fallout if a Rangers player or manager smirked and tutted when being asked about the death of a Pope?” the OP asked, apparently not realising what a lunatic question that is, because, of course, no Ibrox manager – no football manager – would ever be asked such an absurd question or expected to answer it.

But this thing generated more than 200 replies, and but for a couple of them almost every one was a bile soaked, hateful, vicious disgrace. It is, to be frank, the kind of thread that should get websites shut down. All sorts of goons wishing death on people and such like. One guy suggested that it was time for “ethnic cleansing.” I’m not joking.

The whole thread is a keen look into the mind-set of their supporters.

If you’ve watched the clip you’ll see the so-called “disrespect” was Ange visibly reacting to what was an obvious, loaded question from – surprise surprise – a Scottish hack desperately fishing for a headline.

Ange was there to talk about football, and he was being asked to give a personal statement on the death of the Queen; he must on some level think all of this is a joke.

As you can gather, Ange handled the question itself brilliantly, although he’s obviously not too impressed that it was asked in the first place. But he had expected it and you knew he had expected it from the look on his face.

He knows these people well now.

The interesting thing is that many of the website goons start out saying that they thought, and hoped, that he was a “nice guy.”

What garbage that is. They thought that he was a joke, and when he was still a joke to them they didn’t feel one way or another about him. Now he’s graduated to being a threat – and a very big one – they can let the hatred spew forth, and that’s really all that thread is. It’s got damn all to do with the Queen.

Instead this was their bitterness and envy and venom spewing out at a man who has proved more than they imagined, a man who now haunts their dreams.

Still, it is a disgusting and disturbing thread and one that sums up the insanity which breeds on those forums of theirs.
