Ibrox Player Says Today Was A “Proper Performance.” He Should Have Watched Celtic’s.

Today Ibrox’s team scraped through a 2-1 win at Fir Park.

It was an awful football match to watch, genuinely an eye-ball bleeder.

I have watched better juniors games than that today. Ibrox’s kick and rush football is chronic. Their marquee players are of a ridiculously poor standard. Did they really pay big money for Matondo? It seems hard to believe.

In the aftermath, John Lundstram, who scored their second, made an amazing claim to the media; that it was “proper performance.” Eah? Does he really believe that? Can he possibly believe it?

Did his manager tell him to say that?

Does the whole Ibrox dressing room feel the same way?

It was dreadful. If he thinks that ticked the boxes he’s mad.

Yesterday we put on a football show, and gave them a lesson in what a “proper performance” looks like. Tillman is getting praise for a goal, where the Motherwell defence backed off and let him run.

But aside from that there was no real quality in that performance, and certain players – like Kent, who deserves an article on his own – were particularly woeful.

They played today like a team that is essentially out of ideas. Colak, who we were being told was one of the best strikers in Europe – yes, the Daily Record does write some guff – was hooked having made no contribution whatsoever, not a shot on or even off target.

Van Bronckhorst looked, for much of the game, like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Like for like swaps only brought off ineffective players to replace them with other ineffective players.

The mood around that club must be awful because those inside it have to know that this is slipping away, that they are struggling on every front.

And yet this club is just two points behind us. Which is sobering.

They have built a unit which is just – just – better than the level of opposition they play most weeks. But I don’t think it can last. They still don’t look anywhere near as good as we do and even if other clubs don’t take points off them we’re certainly not going to show any mercy.

Other clubs will definitely take points off them too, home and away.

Their players actually think they were excellent today and that says it all. That is a team going nowhere.

Tillman showing why he plays for Bayern?

    The observations of Walker.
No one saying Well deserved something from the game not even their manager.
We get that kind of crap when we have totally outplayed teams and had a shots ratio of about 20 to 1

Lundstram is nothing but a clodhopper. A hammer throwing throw back to the days of blood n snotters when putting your foot through the man before the bll wall actively encourage. The beautiful game multiplied by -1.

  • SSMPM says:

We smashed it alright. My only worry is they won away from home and we never look like losing at home in the SPL, only away on those smaller or plastic pitches that restrict our play. Away wins are critical. Lay off the juniors, no need for that. Up the Talbot

Here’s me thinking a proper performance was Liverpool thrashing the Rangers 7-1 at Ibrox with out playing their first team players for most of the game ! That was a proper performance ! Har har Hardee har har .

Every hun I know think that the big oaf lundstrum is a player!!!!! Honestly they think he’ll leave ibogs for trillions and go to 1 of the top 5 in England!!!!!!

  • Bob (original) says:

Well, it probably was a decent away win for sevco.

No ‘Well red card, nor the expected TavPen were required.

IF we keep the momentum going from yesterday, then it won’t really matter what sevco do… and they’re always just a couple of injuries away from a crisis.

  • Pan says:

It is really interesting when people think they are better than they really are. That is a weakness that eventually catches up with them. It happens in all walks of life. However, it is especially prominent in the Ibrox club and their ridiculously self-centred support. They never learn from past experience and like being in a comfort zone. The day of reckoning is coming again.

  • Joseph Mcaleer says:

Lundstram and the rest are a mediocre ,second rate lot of journey men players nothing less.

  • Kevan McKeown says:

He’s no kiddin anybody but himself. That game was diabolical. How M’well switched aff and let him have a free run from halfway, right through about 5 players and score was unbelievable. Tilman couldnae beleive his luck. They never even put anythin near a tackle in on him. They got the 3 points, but far from convincin.

  • Dominic Hannah says:

That’s.more embarrassing than Taverners apology after the Liverpool game,,total lies ,,pure inept attitude, if he thinks that was a good show,,he’s an embarrassment
