Kris Boyd’s Wee Depressed Face Is The Added Bonus Of Celtic’s Last Ditch Winner.

For any football fan, anywhere, there is a genuine buzz around getting a last-minute winner. And when you’ve conceded a goal in injury time to drop points on a massive afternoon, and then go up the park and score one, that is probably as good as it gets.

Unless you are a Celtic fan.

If you are, then there is one more bit of pleasure to be wrung out of the experience, one more morsel of joy to be had, and it comes, if you’re watching Sky, from seeing the expression on Kris Boyd’s face at full time; the forced smile, the grin through gritted teeth, the knowledge that the guy is absolutely raging but trying to keep that hidden.

He’s not very good at it. Which is why it’s such a pleasure to see.

He thinks we got off with one today.

Of course, he does.

He will ignore our superiority over the course of the game, which was challenged only in the last ten minutes where we seemed grimly determined to make our own lives difficult. He will ignore the number of goals we scored late in games last season.

He will pretend not to know that this is how titles are won.

But he does know all that. He is painfully aware of it all.

And you could see it on his face.

His admission that he was dancing around celebrating the equaliser when we went up the park and scored the winner was like a red ribbon on the prize. Because you can picture that, can’t you? All too easily.

The TV and the radio are full of ex-Ibrox players, and they are amongst the stupidest people in broadcast booths in the country.

They have Mark Hateley on BBC Radio Scotland now and if you’ve ever heard him you know that’s a chore to listen to … but Boyd remains the dumbest, the worst, the most ridiculous and the least able to keep his bias in check.

I really wish that we weren’t subjected to this vacuous idiot, but if we are to suffer him it is fitting that he’s there to cover moments like that, to swallow back his bile and stare straight into the cameras, unblinking, stupid grin fixed to his face, struggling not to scream.

Aside from the winner itself, that was the highlight of the day for me.

I actually agree with him for once. We did get away with one today. I don’t care what anyone thinks. We were lucky last week against Motherwell and we were lucky today. So what? These things happen. We take it and we move on. The amount of changes in the starting line up means disjointed displays like the one today are very possible. Having a strong squad is a good thing but it doesn’t always work when you’re changing half the team.

It’s not what Boyd says that bothers me. It how and and why he says what he says. Anything to bring Celtic down. I don’t want to hear his noise. Even when he’s hurting.

yea, agree with roonsa….we did get away with one…anyone who thinks different needs to take off the v v green tinted specs…
but why should we have to listen to these bitter ex huns?….nor do i want a celtic cheerleader to listen to…just an objective analysis of the match i’ve watched….
too many ex huns and ex celtic pundits…and very few of them worth their salary.
we are going thru a very difficult period…be interesting to see how ange steers us thru it…but cannot see us beating RB next week….nor shaktar the following week….it was very hard on the eye watching that today…oreilly is not the answer to mcgregor’s absence…
but as i say, intrigued to see how ange handles this period.

The far better team won the game justice was done. The officials were incompent in their decisions how on earth did we get away with one ? Goals at any time count .

If you do not want to hear boyds views then e mail sky sports and tell them the truth that this imposter is not impartial when it comes to his bias on celtic games and should not be given a platform to spout his hatred .

know goals count whether in 1st or 91st minute…
and ok ok…we scored more goals then them…so, correct, we deserved to win…but we rode our luck….our play was generally very poor…and as usual…our finishing was awful…
compare our performance in last 4 matches to previous 4….we got away with 1…
i don’t mean it as a criticism….i just see it as a fact-we set ourselves high standards,we’re dropping below those standards….and as i said…will be interesting to see how ange and the team deal with our wee run of poor play…
most important thing was the 3 points….

The best team won, the team that deserved the win for their vast majority of possession and effort did win. Nothing to do with luck or good fortune but because we deserved it. Hope you enjoy watching sky and Blob, I won’t lower myself to that. C’mon a Hoops

i watched the fukn game on celtictv….NOT SKY….
but an awful lot of tims have no choice to watch on sky….

Slate Boyd all you want but we are pushing the boat out with these performances, and if you think not well we have problems on our hands.
That was laboured today and as I said we are 1 or 2 games away from getting skelped in the league.
Only my opinion, which are like aresholes everybody has one.

I cancelled sky 3 years ago soon after Blob and Commons started their love in show. I’ve emailed, like many others on this blog, about Blob several times but it’s the blanket sky response about passionate commentary from ex-players shite.
Don’t think anybody thinks were playing well but we did enough to warrant the victory imho and I can’t see us getting skelped in the league. Spain though?

  • Frankiebhoy says:

If sevco are on sky next week will any ex felt be in the studio I doubt it so why is Boyd covering us is it to be controversial hh

  • Roonsa says:

The problem Sky have with Boyd (and don’t seem to care) is that there is no counter balance. Put Sutton alongside him and it would be a different story. When McCoist “goes up against” Sutton he takes it and dishes it out. He is not a shitebag and is obviously media savvy. Boyd is just a goon with no charisma and would wilt in the same room as Sutton, unlike Sally.
