Robbie Neilson Is Still Talking Gibbering Nonsense About Celtic’s Weekend Win.

One of the things that has always been bothersome about our sports media is that they do not ever follow up their questions and only Celtic bosses ever get to field the armour piercing ones in the first place.

If the hacks had any sense of seriousness about them at all those who sat at Robbie Neilson’s press conference today would never have let him away with it.

He continues to insist that his team “had us on the ropes.”

I wonder which game he thought he was watching. Not the one I was, where two of his side’s three goals came from the penalty spot and we put the ball in the net no fewer than six times from open play.

I wrote yesterday about how rare it is for an opposing manager to praise this team, even when there’s no doubt that we deserve it. Does the Hearts manager really think his team was particularly brilliant?

Does he really think that all they were guilty of was bad defending?

Furthermore, his idiotic claim that we “had to bring £20 million off the bench” to get the victory is insulting and ignorant in almost equal measure and a wilful distortion of reality.

We brought players off the bench as we do at around the same time in every single game.

I am confident that we would have won whoever we had on the park.

His bitching is pitiful. He lives in a fantasy if he thinks his was the better team. But then whenever he gets beaten by us he retreats into the same mind-set.

This is part of why he loses to us so frequently, because he refuses to accept that we’re a better side.

You’ll notice he has no hesitation in offering praise to Ibrox when they win. His team’s dire surrender to them was in stark contrast to the attitude and aggression they showed against us.

They looked, at the weekend, like a team playing its cup final, even if they were outclassed.

If he got half of that out of his team every week he’d be in a better place.
