Celtic has just now announced that it has completed a five year deal for Vissel Kobe central defender Yuki Kobayashi, subject to international clearance. It comes less than 24 hours after Ange re-iterated his intention to make our transfer window signings as soon as possible.
By the time 1 January comes around, this guy will already have completed the paperwork and he will be with the team. What a contrast this is from times past when we had to wait until the window was drawing to a close before the manager got what he wanted.
Here, at Celtic now, deals are done before the window even opens so that the moment they do we have the players in place. What a transformation at this club.
The player has already spoken to the club social media channels and this is what he had to say; “I am so excited to be joining Celtic and I am really looking forward to this wonderful opportunity. I will be giving everything to try and be successful with the Club. Right across the world, everyone knows what a special club Celtic is and it will be a real honour to wear this fantastic jersey. The work of Ange Postecoglou is also really well-known in Japan after he had such a great time in the J League, and as well as being part of Celtic I can’t wait to work with him as a coach and the great team of players he has already developed. I know that Celtic over so many years has such a brilliant track record of success and I now want to play my part in bringing more great moments to the Club and our fans.”
Welcome to the greatest club in the game Yuki, and we all look forward to seeing you in the Hoops. And congratulations to all at Parkhead who are operating right now in a manner none us has ever seen before. This is what well run really looks like.
Well done Celtic,,now sign a proper finisher,,,
Good news.. as need more cover at the back. But a centre forward, who can score in the big games is a must. Here’s hoping we are scouting players in the World Cup.
Sean, the not so great pretender 🙂
Getting him in early and without much fuss is very commendable. I just hope he is as successful as his Japanese predecessors and hits the ground running. We do need a quality centre back for our European campaign next season and we can only wait, sit back and see if he is the answer. Well done Celtic, it looks like a good piece of business yet again.
If Yuki is good enough, then the only downside I see is that Jenz, who I very much like, will be surplus to requirements after his loan spell. We are not going to fork out a fee for him under those circumstances, but on the plus side, I suppose if Jenz really does want to be a Celtic player he will be putting in maximum effort to achieve that. You could say it is a win/win situation for Celtic.
Another good young prospect in the right position reassures me that we’re moving in the right direction and that this manager is committed to the long term at the club. A solid defensive CM and a finisher and I’ll be cock-a-hoops
All we need now is for Moussa to come back.
Yes, the change is quite remarkable and for me it’s all because of Ange.
Now all we need is a clear out at the sfa and we can All look forward to a level playing field. Well, that’s probably a step too far for any reality, I’d be happy if they got in neutral officials to operate VAR. Again, that’s probably a step too far but, we can hope eh?
