Keevins Continues To Attack The Celtic Defence And Even Tries To Drag Our Fans With Him.

Keevins is never happier than when he’s talking absolute guff.

If he’s not predicting that Celtic are going to drop points mere moments before we secure them he’s having a go at various elements of the team without thinking too deeply about whether his argument stands up to scrutiny.

I am ever grateful to those who listen to him so I don’t have to.

Once again, Paddy Sinat of Vital Celtic has brought forth a series of quotes from the veteran hack which are ridiculous beyond belief. As has become a habit with him, he’s having a go at our defence, and in particular Carl Starfelt, on the back of what was an excellent, non-nonsense performance from the big guy at Pittodrie.

And this time, Keevins tried to drag Celtic fans into his rant … on his side.

You could not make that up.

“At the back for Celtic, for me, Starfelt is an Achilles heel. I think the Celtic fans can’t wait to get Kobayashi in the team and get Starfelt out,” he said.

And that’s remarkable because he’s again trying to align his views with those of our supporters and he’s talking up a footballer he hasn’t even seen yet and who, furthermore, we haven’t even seen yet.

I am keen to see what Kobayashi can bring to the defence, but the idea that I cannot wait to see Starfelt punted so we can try out a guy who doesn’t have a single minute in a competitive game for us, disrupting a partnership which was not simply good but which was outstanding last season … it’s a joke, and that this guy still draws a salary for this stuff is an even bigger one.

Keevins is like so many other people in the media who made their minds up about Starfelt after a shaky start and simply will not change it no matter how well the guy plays.

He’s been banging this drum for over a year, and it should embarrass him how utterly out of touch he is with the facts and the statistics which prove that Starfelt has made an excellent contribution to this side.

Keevins, let’s not forget, thinks we should jettison Porto target Stephen Welsh and go for Ryan Porteous instead, which sums up his myopic clown-car level ability to assess footballers and what football clubs need. This guy is 100% wrong.

But what else is new?
