Ex-Ibrox Players Line Up To Urge Sevco To Adopt The Strategy That Killed Rangers.

Over the last couple of days, the Ibrox fans have been treated to the views of people who should never, ever open a corner shop.

Financially illiterate, bloated with the usual supremacist guff and completely impervious to the lessons of history they have demanded insanity from the club that they profess to have the deepest affection for.

Rangers died.

I understand that this is extraordinarily hard for a lot of people to accept.

I understand that there is serious resistance to this idea.

But let’s take the death of the club out of this for a moment so that these people can deal with it on an unemotional basis.

Something bad happened over there, everyone, even their delusional fans, can surely agree on that. And it happened because they spent more money than they should.

As lovers of the legal movies would say, “these are the facts of the case and they are undisputed.”

The driver the last time an Ibrox club went off the rails was Craig Whyte, but the architect was David Murray.

This, too, even their own supporters are well aware of and freely admit. His EBT scheme was designed to catch Celtic … instead it annihilated the club and handed us a generational advantage.

Again, that’s something we can all agree on.

Is the game worth the candle?

What I mean by that is, do these people regard catching Celtic as the be-all-and-end-all?

No matter what it costs them?

How many versions of Rangers do these people want to watch in their lifetimes? They’re on number two right now … do they want a version three or even a four? Because that’s what some people do seem keen on.

Those voices calling for the manager to be backed to the max seem almost determined to follow where Murray led them.

One ex player even demanded that Beale get “David Murray backing.” Which is the height of absurdity, although it was warmly applauded in the pro-Ibrox media. It will not have been applauded in their boardroom.

Even if it were somehow feasible for them to spend that kind of money – in short, if their current directors were willing to “invest” more of their cash on the Great Pissing Against The Wall exercise of 2022 – UEFA’s new version of FFP would stop it dead, and the EBT trick cannot be repeated. This is not just barmy, it’s technically impossible.

These Peepul live on a different planet.

The voices calling for this guy to be backed to the hilt should be asked how they would feel if the cash to do it was coming out of their pockets, because the only alternatives to the current directors paying for this freak-show are outside investors coming in, and getting whatever they want, or some form of fiscal sleight of hand.

Either way, this crazy mind-set where the only answer to every problem is to throw money at it belongs in the past, not just of that club but football itself. They simply refuse to move on, because that means acknowledging their own limitations and facing up to what that means for the future.

Hard times. They would rather die. Again.

    Oh you bloody think so.
I know you’re saying so for the sake of your argument, to help make a point but next, it’ll be let’s call them the old firm for whatever daft reason you or others want to. The door is suddenly open to a slippery slope. The dr will be misquoting you and your blog as saying those words and they’d be right.

Let them do it again ! When the clumpany goes nipples up again ,let us all sit back and watch our Governing bodies ,our other clubs and the SMSM do and say very little as criticism ! That will give us all the irrefutable proof that all of them are incompetent and completely on the side of the Ibrox racketeers……
