In the aftermath of yesterday’s game, Ange spoke to the BBC who asked him about the coming cup semi-final with Kilmarnock. He was asked if there’s was a sense of expectation about that game and, of course, the final itself.

Ange told the journo exactly what he expects.

“It’s got nothing to do with my desire,” he said. “It’s to do with my responsibility at this football club. You start every season wanting to win every domestic trophy that is available – that’s what you sign up for. It’s not actually in the contract but it might as well be there.”

That’s a man who doesn’t have to get fired up or pin things to dressing room walls or anything like that. He gets it, and he’s gotten it since he walked through the doors of this place. He arrived at a club on its knees, but he knew what he had to achieve.

He has infused this idea in everything the club does. Players understand it as much as he does, whether they’ve been at the club for years or whether they are just in the door. All involved have to believe that they are winners because he only wants those in his team.

He issued a warning to the rest of the league whilst he was at it. “”We’re comfortable with where we are. We know that there are still 17 games to go. We want to finish the season stronger than we started – that’s our goal.”

Think on that. A recognition that he is responsible for one thing only; bringing success to Celtic, and combine it with this idea that even with a twelve point lead you want to finish the season even stronger than you have been so far.

These are the high standards he has and which now everyone at Celtic has. I listened, briefly, to Tom English on the way out of the game yesterday and he nailed it for once when he said that the professionalism and will to win in this side is not even allowing The Mooch and his club even “a chink of light.” We just keep on winning and these comments tell us why.

It’s all about this man, Ange Postecoglou.

Acting responsible is something Ange has learned not to associate with what comes out of the hateful midden.

Exactly that, the guy from Peckham will be trundled off in his Robin Reliant quicker than you can say ” this time next year we’ll be millionaires”
Peckham spring has a nice ring to it.
A belligerent person at the best of times, I for one won’t miss him and his barrow boys.
