Gary Keown’s Column Last Week Was Just Part Of His Campaign Against The Celtic Boss.

Earlier in the week, on Monday in fact, I wrote a piece about Gary Keown’s latest gibbering attack on Celtic, where he accused Ange of putting pressure on refs.

What I wasn’t aware of – until I was sent a copy of one of Joe McHugh’s articles from earlier in the month – was that this Keown continuing a theme he took up several weeks ago.

Keown, uniquely amongst the media, seems to have a serious issue with our manager. But this hardly new as he’s had issues with Celtic bosses before Ange came along. He was a frequent critic of both Lennon and Rodgers as well.

Whoever at our club is getting results, basically.

Keown has been banging the drum for Ange to leave Celtic to go to Everton, and he’s been doing this since November, which he referenced in his latest nonsense.

“’Everton have been linked with the Aussie since Celtic met them in the Sydney Super Cup. They are going to be looking for a new manager very, very soon. If they are willing to appoint Frank Lampard, a bloke who couldn’t get Derby out of the Championship before bombing at Chelsea, why wouldn’t they give the likes of Postecoglou a chance? Right now, he is starting to give off the vibe of a guy who might just welcome a change of scenery and an escape from the circus back into the normal world.”

Confused? Oh don’t worry, we’ll come back to that later.

Not content with stirring that soup for all he was worth, he then went on the attack against Ange over his comments about VAR and officials, writing, as Joe pointed out that “The emergence of Ange the Irritable carries ominous portents. If Postecoglou really is beginning to listen to those who would tell you that there are booby-traps placed for Celtic round every corner by Scottish football’s illuminati, he’ll end up doo-lally.”

So this joker has been having a go since at least the start of the month, and he’s been ramping up his attacks in spitting fury ever since.

He thinks Ange is giving off vibes. Amazing these experts in body language. The only person in this who is giving off a vibe is Keown himself; the pungent reek of Sevconuts.

Not even Keith Jackson himself would have written something so deranged, and if you read my article on his column from the weekend you’ll know how out there he is.

Keown has long been known for his anti-Celtic guff. He was the reporter, after all, who first pushed hard on the idea that Kyogo was a diver and a cheat … it’s great to see that these people who are so fond of character assassination are still willing to stand up for our refs, eah? You wonder at times why that is. As if we didn’t know already.
