The Mooch’s Latest Pitiful Snipe At Celtic Was Directed At Us, The Fans.

What a crumby little man The Mooch is.

How many times have I written that or something similar already?

Has there ever been an Ibrox boss so consistent in playing up to his own Peepul?

Yesterday, in his defence of The Trailer Park Serial Killer he could have left it at Kent being a “technical player” and not some hard-case but he had to have a dig at us.

For the record, the idea of Kent as a hard-man is almost as funny as the idea of him as some kind of technical footballer. He is a no-mark in both respects. We didn’t accuse of him being a hard-man, we accused him of being a thug. We said that his behaviour is cowardly.

He’s certainly not hard. If he had to go toe-to-toe with someone like Brown, it would be a battle roughly as one sided as the part where the Charge of The Light Brigade were massacred at Balaclava.

There is nothing impressive about Kent in that respect.

The Mooch’s comment that it was “just one set of fans” banging the drum about Kent’s neddish act is certainly not true.

I’m fairly sure Aberdeen fans were just as animated as we were, but in some ways he gets pass marks for recognising clearly what many of us already suspected; that the media is more interested in talking about lucky Giakoumakis was than about the Davies incident, or his winger’s psychotic episode.

It is their fault that the game is a laughing stock at the moment with some of these incidents going unpunished and even unexplored.

But The Mooch is a complete fool, the kind of manager Ibrox’s fans have always loved; a brazen charlatan who plays to their gallery of goons. He is the kind of manager the media always laps up, until he starts to make a mess of things and then watch how swiftly they, and the Ibrox fan-base, turns against him.

It will come; it’s like Tom Petty said. The waiting is the hardest part.
