Celtic Boss Snubbed As Manager Of The Month For Man Who Did Ibrox Huge Favour.

Ange Postecoglou had an outstanding month in January by any acceptable standard. He was the best manager in the country during that time by a country mile. Apart from everything else, he took his side to Ibrox and left with a nine point lead. He is unbeaten.

It was bad enough having to stomach the idea that Scotland’s outstanding footballer at the moment, Aaron Mooy, didn’t win the player of the month award. I could see the argument for giving it to Nisbet of Hibs.

But where is the justification for making the manager of the month Robbie Neilson?

He drew two matches, which is one more than the Celtic boss.

Whatever next? Making him manager of the month for February as well?

When you consider how this month started for him, with his bizarre tactical switcheroo against the Ibrox club at home, and subsequent heavy defeat, it looks like the SPFL is deliberately trolling us.

The press seems to think beating a hapless Hibs and an Aberdeen team who had just been knocked out of the cup by Darvel merits this award.

But Ange Postecoglou was the manager of the month and that’s the bottom line.

It is preposterous to say otherwise. Neilson’s getting praise for his side scoring 13 goals. Wow. We scored 17. Like Hearts, we kept clean sheets in five out of our six games.

Honest to God, I don’t know how they come up with this stuff or what criteria they use for it, but Ange Postecoglou has been done up for the second month in a row. Last month they gave the award to The Mooch. Of course.

I am only surprised he didn’t win it again this time around, but Neilson I guess deserved his reward for starting February in such sterling fashion.
