Football Scotland is taking the fight to Glasgow Live as the worst website in Scotland covering sport. A total clickbait creation from the first, it is filled to the brim with the two key components of a terrible media outlet – gossip and ignorance. It also likes to invent stories, and that’s what their latest disaster-piece is today; sheer invention.

Not only is it an invention, but it’s a lazy one. It’s dreadfully put together. The headline is bad enough. The article, is anything, is even worse.

“4 big name Celtic transfer exits that could happen this summer after Ange Postecoglou warning” it screams at you, and this of course is based on their fundamentally dishonest headline of yesterday where they claimed that Ange had made such a warning.

But of course he didn’t. And you’ll notice the word “could” in that headline; there is not a shred of veracity to any of this; to use the local vernacular, it is reeking of stale pish. The whole article is just a scam against its readers.

And who are the four players? Two are obvious, and you realise when you hear the next two that the writer thought up the headline first and the central claim and then, although there’s an entire squad of quality players at our club, he actually – and this is the amazing bit – he ran out of ideas after the first two names. What a joke.

The first two of course are Abada and O’Riley, both because there’s already been chatter about both of them. So he’s trawled for rumours which appeared elsewhere and he has based his piece on them. As bad as that is though, the next two are worse.

The first of them is David Turnbull. Eah? Based on what exactly? Charlie Nicholas and Frank McAvennie suggesting Ange might not like him? Based on the writer’s own complete lack of knowledge of or understanding of life at Celtic?

This idiocy has been knocked on the head by both player and manager. It is the idea that refuses to die although there is not one word of truth in it.

Here’s my favourite one; Joe Hart.

Told you the guy had run out of ideas. With Carter Vickers, Starfelt, McGregor, Maeda, Hatate, Kyogo, Jota and others to choose from this was the best he could do. That’s just sad. The writer is obviously lacking in imagination, which is exactly the talent required to write fiction … but then clickbait doesn’t have to meet even the most basic standard.

Which is a good job, as that piece doesn’t come close to it.
